Head of Starfleet Stands Down

Good day all,

It is my unfortunate duty to inform you all that Head of Starfleet Jake Tyler has made the decision to stand down from his position after almost nine months in the position and this is effective immediately.

Jake Tyler has been a great asset to the Starfleet Command team and a reliable colleague who it has been a pleasure to work with. During the course of Jake Tyler's two and a half years as a UFP member so far he has worked his way up to the rank of Admiral and has been awarded fourteen medals making him one of the most decorated members currently within the community.

As a not for profit community we rely heavily on those that volunteer their time and energy to keep the community running so whenever someone moves on it is always a shame to see and whilst this is a loss to Starfleet it allows Jake Tyler to take a well deserved rest from serving the UFP community so he can relax and once again enjoy his time here as a community member without having to worry about any additional responsibilities.

As someone who once retired from a high level position myself I can say that a nice break is most certainly enjoyable but you do tend to miss things and hopefully this won't be the last time we see Jake Tyler in a position within the community. Regardless of whether or not Jake decides to pursue a position within UFP again I sincerely wish him good luck in all his future endeavours and thank him deeply for his dedication and service to the UFP community.

A separate announcement will be made in the near future as to how we intend to recruit for the now vacant Head of Starfleet position.

Jake,

It was a genuine pleasure working and playing with you over the past year and a half that I have known you. You have left measurable impact and a great legacy for this community that will be remembered for some time to come.

Jake, I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors and I can not begin to thank you enough for all the guidance and advice you have provided to myself and countless others in your various roles in UFP. As said in Contact, "No words..." I cannot articulate the contributions you've made to this community. You were a huge part of SFHQ/SFC, a huge supporter of the Harriers and the Simms, and a fierce friend. I cannot imagine the leadership without you, and it's a shame they will no longer have you in their ranks.

That said, I know you will enjoy this break and will have a blast playing games and not worrying about Three's constant bickering. I jest. It's not so constant. Ok, joking again - Three rocks the casba. And so does Jake. So good luck buddy!

Tongue in cheek aside it was a real pleasure working with you Jake, and this move isn't entirely surprising, so I hope you enjoy the much deserved relaxation, free of petty bickering and political nonsense!

Heck, maybe even get some real game time in!
