Federation News Service - Full Time Writer
CL4 - Tier 3 (Lieutenant)

The role of a Full-Time Writer is to work within the Federation News Service to consistently produce high-quality articles regarding the latest and greatest Sci-Fi/Trek related news. In some cases, it will also see you conducting interviews with known figures in Sci-Fi/Trek.

This position is perfect for individuals brimming with creativity who wish to give back to the community through the medium of writing. It will also see you playing a key role in the continual expansion of the Federation News Service!

JOB DUTIES

Write stories for FNS based on the assignments volunteered for and/or given out by the CO and XO.
Conduct interviews assigned by the CO and XO.
Take initiative and write articles without being asked to do so when new, interesting, or otherwise important stories crop up.
The successful candidate of this role would report to Torinth & Cehus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

It is required that for this role, you must have passed and completed the Entrance Exam and the Administrative Exam..
Decent grammar and writing skills.
Is it a CL5 position? No
PLEASE NOTE: If it is a CL5 position, the successful candidate will have to sign the Command Position Agreement before entering the role.

Just a little bump to this, FNS is a great area to work in especially around about this time as STO will be releasing a bunch of exciting information about Expansion #2.

I would greatly encourage anyone who knows the basics of journalism and enjoys writing to apply for this position (really, all that's required is the second one). It's great practice, fun to do, and offers a variety of subjects to write about (real-life science, Star Trek announcements, Episode Reviews, Interviews, and so much more). It's not too time-consuming either. The current minimum for a full-time writer is 2 articles a month, or, an average of ~0.06 articles a day, so you don't have to fret about being bogged down with work unless you want to be. I'm looking forward to seeing a fresh face or five among our writing staff in the FNS.
