Haven't been invited to the fleet yet but did a lot of reading and I think this would be perfect for me..
I'm a level 14 LT Commander, one of my friends in the marines use to play and I'm a total trekkie, unfortunately none of my friends want to play this with me 
(they like call of duty n crap like that..)
I'm hoping I can get some friends on here that could help me get through some levels and do some other great stuff I haven't found out about yet.

I think most of us are still grinding up the new R&D system, so we're producing low Mark equipment. If you tell us what weapons (type and energy) you're going with, we can probably make you some level-appropriate gear.

Do you mean spare tactical consoles? What weapon energy type are you using?
Commander means Mk V or VI, which is easy to craft.

If i remember correctly you hit U and select your ship there should be a stations tab or assignments where you can choose your bridge officers etc...but I might be incorrect so if anyone can confirm.

No, you're correct, there's a tab there to assign BOffs to Stations. Unless he's outright missing BOffs, in which case he needs to commission some officers.
