The Cactus News Network can announce that the Scientists of Three Cactus have created an energy shield bubble generator on mainland Three Cactus.

These two generators, in the heart of the island, are capable of creating a shield bubble around Three Cactus; which can defend the island from any incoming laser or nuclear projectiles as well as other energy weapons. This bubble is the new wave of technology being worked on by Cactonian Scientists. The move towards defensive and military creation on Three Cactus has been a response to the re-start in the buildup of other nations and there military.

His Serene Highness Prince Bondgadget, who has currently been struck down by a mysterious illness, had this to say on the creation of the Shield Bubble:

"This bubble is the first step towards creating peace and prosperity for our nation. In my lifetime we have lived through many conflicts and a great war *cough cough* I am happy now that we can focus on peaceful but defensive technological marvels"

At present the Cactonian Science and Defense Ministries are not willing to share any details with us in regards to what powers these devices, but rumors are rife that Cactus Oil is a main proponent in making them work. These generators are capable of making a bubble of energy which surrounds the island in a time of need. Stopping any and all missiles that make there way towards the island. Hopefully this will bring a safer time to the Three Cactus Islands.

I'm sorry to report that Prince Bondgadget has died, quietly in his sleep, at the Utopia Trauma Centre in New Rawrtony; no autopsy has been requested in the wake of his death. He was 46.

I do not wish to speak on behalf of Three Cactus, but this news does indeed mean that Princess Alexandria of Rawrtony has now finally ascended to become the Princess-Consort of Three Cactus, solidifying our alliance once and for all. On that piece of news we congratulate our beloved princess!

This pleasant news aside, Imperial Rawrtony is happy to see this shielding technology applied to Three Cactus. Many civilians call their home Three Cactus, and their protection, as central citizens no less, is of paramount importance.

The Purple Palace has released this Statement in the wake of this tragic news:

"The Lord Chancellor and the Privy Council can confirm that His Serene Highness Prince Bondgadget has indeed passed away in his sleep, after contracting a mysterious illness. His body is returning to Rohan, where it will lay in wake in the Grand Hall of the Purple Palace.

Prince James Arthur Philip Gadget will ascend to the throne in an ascension ceremony tomorrow morning. The Prime Minister has been to Cactus Abbey to kiss hands with the new Prince and to ask to form a government in his name. The Coronation date has yet to be announced, however a State Funeral will be taking place in three days. Princess Alexandria will attend the ascension ceremony and take the title of Princess-Consort. Though the highest women in the land, the title is ceremonial and therefore she will take no power. In this time of personal tragedy may our Central Independent Nation carry itself with dignity and respect."

The Prime Minister is said to be in shock at this time, as is First Admiral Prickle, who was a close friend and adviser of the late Prince. More to come in the coming days.....

The Lord Protector of Cellaris extends his deepest sympathies to the people of Three Cactus. The loss of such an influential leader shall reverberate throughout the whole of Utopia. However, the Republic eagerly awaits the ascension of Prince James and has high hopes for his rule. Given the completely unpredictable and no doubt natural death of the former Prince, we hope that the people of Three Cactus can persevere through this difficult time.

The Science Ministry is very surprised at this apparent Novus discovery as Novus was the state which help design and create the shield generators. We will look into this apparent discovery more, but our scientists are confident that the shield is able to defend our island and the state. All new discoveries come with flaws which can be fixed over time. Testing has begun and all flaws will be fixed.

The Purple Palace and His Serene Highness Prince James, has no interest of involving itself in CSUN activities, however the submarine group which had previously been deployed to the area will continue to remain in the area to give assistance and help defuse the situation.

However with certain information coming to light through the Cactus Intelligence Administration (C.I.A), the State Department released this statement earlier today:

"After gathering information from our sources in Lantea, the C.I.A can confirm that Lantea has been illegally using technology which was requested to be removed by the Vallis. Furthermore slanderous dossiers were found in the Lantean state departments offices, in which they refer to CSUN as 'ineffectual' and confirm there refusal to remove the technology. There intercepts have been sent to CSUN and the nations to which they are referred."
