I personally would love a Star Trek Show based around the Klingons, rather than another show about federation ships and crew. Klingons have such high potential and even though they have been part of the shows I feel there is more potential there if a fully run series based on a Klingon crew would happen.

I'm sorry i must Disagree. Houever i like Klingons, but i'll tell you, where did the serie's all begon ?! Starfleet it i'm correct ? In my picture, other factions outside the federation (Klingon or Rumulan) have always had a supporting role in the series and movies and i don't see why that should change.

See, I always found the age issue to be something that should be happily embraced, it is part of the adventure afterall.

For example, Kirk et al accepted their age in Star Trek II, and it produced fantastic, and realistic, character development.

In Star Trek Insurrection, we find our aging acting crew desperately attempting to hide their age, and we end up with uniforms that dont quite fit anymore and sagging boob jokes.

Having Data setting himself up as a far older version, so that he has aged with his friends, would present fantastic opportunities for character growth and humour.

Picture: Riker and Picard have shown up to visit newly reminted Captain Data. Riker makes a joke about Data having not quite got the age thing right, so he makes a comment on how he needed to guage his age based on his shipmates, but was stuck with an anomolyous entry with Picard having barely aged at all, while everyone else had gotten fat...

So many opportunities...

A Klingon/Romulan/etc show could work but it would be a very limited audience, I would have no problem with it but I doubt I would go out of my way to watch it. It would certainly be something that would be created by fans rather than a big studio because I doubt it would reach a high audience. It's hard for humans to identify with a show when the main cast doesn't involve humans, it becomes harder to relate to them.

I might get lynched for this, but I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the JJverse explored in a TV series.

Now hear me out. For me, the movies biggest failing has been the need to make them accessible blockbuster hits, which means mainly action with some character development. While they've been fun, they haven't really been SCIFI movies.

I think in TV form, we could get back to what made Trek great, while at the same time, getting to revisit old concepts without being held back by decades of conflicting writers and ideas. While I know it's sacrilege to some, sometimes it's good to just start over from scratch and see how you can do things this time.

Now that being said, I'd be just as happy if we could get a Post-Voyager series exploring what's happened to the Alpha Quadrant in the wake of so many galaxy-shaking events.

So yeah, had no idea where to place this, but this seemed good enough. As for the "Future of Star Trek", the next Star Trek movie they are trying to get Shatner back. How that would work into the story, I don't know, but seriously, no. New stories please.
