I'll tell you what got me into star trek.

When i was little i had a bit of an Attention disorder and was also very hyperactive, my mother found this one show on BBC TWO one evening and she caught me sitting still watching the TV. I sat on the floor Transfixed to the TV for the whole 45 minutes. That show was Star Trek TNG, so what got me into star trek? my mother trying to stop me being a little nutter

Well watching ToS with Captain Kirk. Did not get the romance that young but always like the ship flying though space. And the First Star Trek game was on an old TSR80 with enterprise I think was an X and Klingons as a O could be wrong it been so long ago.

I would say that I've always been a scifi fan despite my parent's hobbies. I'm honestly the only one in my immediate family that loves scifi and I believe I was channel surfing for something to watch. Back then, that consisted of turning the knob on the tv.

But my first memory of watching Star Trek was probably between 6-8 years old or around there. and Like I said I was channel surfing and I tuned into a rerun episode of TOS. Since that moment, I would run inside from playing outside and almost literally crash on the couch to watch reruns of TOS when they aired. But admittedly, I would have to say I grew up with TNG as they came about during my formative years and it's the series I feel more attached to.

For me, I actually started watching Star Trek when I was in high school when TNG was on. I honestly did not like it at first but as there really was nothing on TV, I ended up watching it and I started to like it.

When I was a little kid, I grew up in the same house as my grandparents along with my aunt and Uncle. It was my grandfather that loved Star Trek. I spent a lot of time with him. During that time TOS was already in reruns. He passed away right before I started Junior high.

I think that was part of the reason why I started watching Star Trek when I was in high school. It was partly to remember my grandfather, but at the same time I ended up liking it because I gave it a chance.

The series that I have seen the most are TNG, VOY and DS9. TNG and VOY are my favorites of them all.

I remember watching my Grandfather watch Star Trek the Next Generation. When he passed away (now over 10 years ago), I took on his hobbies in an attempt to understand him more. Tried fish, tried trains, tried it all. The two that stuck were Star Trek and Classical Music.

When I was a kid my older brothers would watch TNG so I started watching it with them not really understanding what was happening but I was very fascinated with it. I would go to my room and try build the ships I just saw on Television out of Lego and then have my own star trek adventures. I really did enjoy it and as I got older I started watching DS9 and then Voyager as I was able to understand and really enjoy the series.

The series itself, My stepfather was a fan...I used to watch it with him all the time, much to the dismay of My mother LOL

As for the game itself, I saw a feature article on it in Gamepro magazine.

Voyager got me into Star Trek, I used to watch it at night with my family everyday during the summer. Good times...

My Star Trek experience began essentially at birth. I was born during the beginning of season 2 of TNG, and my mother is herself a life long fan. I recall a few VHS tapes we recorded of TNG epsiodes, though I mostly really got into it via reruns of both TNG and TOS. My mom and I actually cried at the end of Nemesis. And I jumped at getting STO when it was first released, though I lost interest in favor of other things for a while.

As for the Abrams reboot: Both my mom and I like it. I remember her leaving the theater excitedly talking about the possibilities of it. Sure, it's not exactly like TOS, but really, what can be?

Ah, thread Resurrection. Well then I'll participate. It was my Mom and Dad. TNG would come on right after the 10'o'Clock news and during the news they would always have an add for it. I was allowed to watch the news because it was important to my parents that we be informed on local and world events. But we were never allowed to stay up when the Sports came on and that was the end of the news broadcast. One night I got a bit cheeky and snuck out of bed, saw my parents watching TNG. Hid in the background and was hooked, at the end they found me watching and Dad couldn't believe it interested me, he thought for sure i'd get bored being 5 years old and all. I managed to stay up long enough to see TOS and found every Sunday All-New TNG ran then 2x TOS and I joined my Dad in his Trek hobby of watching all of them until 1 in the morning, and up the next morning for school. It was great because my school performance dictated whether I could watch the TOS Eppys and if I was really slipping I'd miss a New TNG Episode as well so I tried to do my best at school because of that.

Over the years I just saw my parents watching it every now and again and I was just interested in the show with the space ship. Then they started playing TNG on G4 (when it was an interesting channel) and I was just bored one day and decided to watch it and got hooked on the first ep, wish I could remember which one it was.

I can't remember which I saw first, Season 1 TNG or Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home on VHS rental.

One led me to the other, and I got to watch all the TOS films, except Wrath of Khan (for some reason our video store didn't carry it). I watched TNG religiously, and I saw V and VI when they launched in the theatres. (I was a kid at the time, so I actually liked V for a little while).

The first time I saw Trek were TOS reruns on TV, but since these aired sometime in midday and I had to be in school, I never really watched them.

I had somehow stumbled upon ENT on the internet when I was around 14, and that's when my real passion for Trek (and other sci-fi as well) started. I think I watched at least one episode a day on average at that point, so I was through with ENT, TNG and Voyager pretty quickly.

For me it was Next Generation namely Data is what got me into the Star Trek universe, as a child I wanted to find out more about Data and over time that grew into wanting to find out more about Star Trek.
