Everyone is over there like "Ooooh look, new STO content" and I'm over here like "Ooooh look, Green Man Gaming handed out Civ: BE codes so I can pre-download" 
In all seriousness, has anyone else gotten their keys and downloaded it? I'm really excited, if I can maths correctly, the game will be out at 10PM my time so I can play a little on Thursday. After I've been through a playthrough, I'd also be down for some multiplayer action, just let me know. Tuesday and Thursday mornings I've got some free time until the end of the semester, so we could plan something and go from there.

Well, I'm about 300 turns into my first game with Frano-Iberia. I've been pursing the tech victory, and I'm only 40% of the way there... >.< And I'm the furthest towards my goal on the map!
The game is a lot of fun, I started playing it like I would Civ 5, complete with attacking the aliens that came near me. Let me tell you, that's a terrible idea... I think next game I'll focus down aliens AFTER I've leveled up my units a bit. The game is really fun though, and I could see myself playing it for a while. It's a little boring midgame, where everyone is trying to build up cities and nothing else, but it's fun. The health mechanic (which was happiness in Civ 5) is really tough. My population keeps going up and up and so at one point I was at -15 hp before I conquered a Brazilian city, which jumped me down to -30. Luckily the penalty wasn't too bad on my culture and science, but it still wasn't fun...
If you've got Steam installed, you can play the demo. The rumor is that it goes to turn 100. That'll let you try out the beginning, but I promise you, you won't get to touch some of the cooler stuff that you get later on. But it will let you see how you like the game.

Read most of ze reviews about it; they put it at 7, which according to them is pretty much entertaining but yeah there is sum issues here and there... I'll still get it bout Christmas I think...

i played the hell outta civ v and just got BE but havent had a chance to play it yet. looks pretty good. just 1 thing....do we have space nukes or an orbital strike?
