Hey guys, new arrival here, I had been looking for an STO fleet for a while since I got to 50 but I wanted it to be both casual friendly (since I'm relatively new still) and most importantly populated by fellow star trek fans so when I saw this site I thought it was exactly what I was looking for!
A bit about myself:
The first Star Trek anything I saw were reruns of TAS on public television when I was 6 or 7, I only remember seeing 4 or 5 episodes but it was enough :mrgreen:, a short time after TNG came on TV and blew my little mind.
I don't read a lot of Star Trek books but of those I read I really liked 'Deny thy father' because it goes more in depth in Starfleet Academy.
My favorite character is and always has been since I was 8 years old, Commander Riker.
As for favorite episode, well I don't have only one but the ones I liked the most are: "Balance of Terror", "Duet", "Inter arma enim silent leges", "In a mirror, darkly", "Cause and Effect" and "The First Duty".
While the movies I enjoy most are "The Undiscovered Country" and "First Contact".
my favorite quote would be the famous intro "Space, the final frontier...etc" and Picard's speech about the first duty of every Starfleet officer

TNG is hands down my favorite series, with DS9 a distant second.
I played a lot of ST games but probably my favorite would be a tie between Bridge Commander and Starfleet Command 2.

Thanks for the welcome guys!, already have a funny story to share inside 24 hours, yesterday evening when I accepted the invite I proceeded to play normally and after 2-3 hours I was like "these guys are really quiet, they haven't said a word in fleet chat yet", then before going to bed I recalled mention of a fleet wide custom chat channel lol, sure enough I came to check today and found the guide on how to set it up so I'll be doing so once I can get online.

Welcome to the UFP! If you like bridge commander and SFC, make sure to stop by Holdeck 1 and say hello to the Reserves! Many of our members fire up the older Trek games for some fun. I was a big fan of SFC 3 myself.

I like him because of his habit to think outside the box and come up with new ways to solve problems, that and the fact he was sort of the resident action hero when on away teams :mrgreen:
