Hello everyone,

I'm @thexpl0r3r and I'm Trekkie. I'm also internet addict and gamer but usually I don't play MMO's as I think they're never-ending stories requiring a lot of time.

However, when it comes to Star trek Online... the opportunity to be a part of Star Trek Universe was irresistible ... going to DS9 and having the opportunity to be in Captain Sisko's office, fighting against the Borg and Dominion... being Starfleet Captain, Klingon and Romulan at the same time... fighting along with Worf and Tuvok... priceless... and so far I spent over 3100 hours in the game.

I have 13 toons. I consider 7 of them to be main (3 KDF and 4 Feds) and 6 (3 KDF and 3 Feds) support ones. Out of those 7 toons, 5 are fully trained with top ships and gear and 2 are still work in progress while support toons run on a tight budget but still fairly efficient.

Thanks for telling us a little about yourself. You mention being a big gamer, have you played any of the other Star Trek games and are there any you are still interested in?

You're welcome, I think of it as a common courtesy. I don't think of myself as a big gamer although video games do have significant place in my life. I've been gaming since the 80's, but I did not play many old Star Trek games. At the time I was more into Star Wars Universe, but with growing up Star Trek Universe became much more appealing. I played Elite Force II which I loved and Legacy which I didn't like very much, and I'm open for suggestions and recommendations

I would just like to clarify difference between big\hardcore gamer and myself, the way I see it. To me, big\hardcore gamers are those that play to achieve perfection. In STO, their goal is highest possible dps and they belong to that group that has 30k and above dps. I play a lot, but only for pleasure and relaxation and once it stops being stress relief I move away.

Thanks for posting to say hello! I would say that you are definitely an Internet addict if you've logged 3100 hours in game! I thought I had a lot of characters (7 total), but Ashley has something like 31 toons. Now that's dedication (or possibly OCD).

Have you had a chance to hop on TeamSpeak and say hello to everyone?

No I haven't been on TS yet but I promise to drop by soon, just need to set it up... still finding my way around

Hmm. I am a bit afraid to look at my stats. I'd have to look at the in game counter as I didn't use steam for STO originally.

What can I say... I just love the game. I'm aware that I'm addicted to it, but until my significant other doesn't threaten to leave me I'll be fine

Out of curiosity, I finally went and added up my stats. Steam shows 961 hours, but my total game time includes hours before I used the Steam install on my new desktop and I currently have 1,693 hours in game.
