You may have heard through various Trek news and gaming sites about a somewhat recent quote from CBS Vice President Van Critters (a self confessed fan of Star Trek):

Right now we are absolutely most heavily focused on Star Trek Online and it deserves a clear playing field right now. That said, we are aware of the demand for more traditional games with Star Trek and we are working towards that end and expanding the entire world of Star Trek gaming in the long-term. There are definitely things in the works. There is a great deal of interest in developing new games for Star Trek and we will definitely have more to say about it in the future. I am very excited about what the future is going to hold for Star Trek gaming as a whole.

It makes you wonder what they have in mind. But considering new games are either in the pipeline or not far from it, what would you like to see coming out first?
Perhaps someone in authority will pass on by and get some ideas

My brother and I have always wanted a Star Trek game where you play as a crew member and just do you job. It'd be a mutliplayer online game in the same structure that America's Army (AA) has. There wouldn't be a HUD but instead you would use your PADD or Tricorder and onscreen cues. Ships in the game would function something like guilds in other games.

I think something Set in Kirk's Time. There arent enough games around that era. Especaly TOS. IF they were to make an RPG in the Style of Mass effect but Set in the TOS Era (Or even a series of games set in each era) it would be awesome. But my Hope is that they will bring out Either a DS9 RPG where you play as a Crewman Under the command of captain Sisko and have to essantaly avoid being a redshirt. OR a RPG Based on ST Voyager in the same style. Where you play as An Engineering, Science, Medical Or Security Crewman and have to raise through the ranks to The XO of your department. (as we only ever see Kess/Tom as a department 2nd in command) The latter would be my idea of pure heaven. And ALL Decks would have to be maped out.

I wholeheartedly support this. Paying for the game can be enough, even if the game costs a little more if it lacks a subscription fee.

On a game like that, I wouldn't want to see any mini games. Like when you wanted to fix a console on the bridge, you actually had to do it. No stupid minigames like pipes (EF2) or memorize the order of flashing lights!

Americas Army uses the Unreal Engine, I'd like that for EF3

I'd love to see a Bride Commander 2, hopefully as expanded as BC1 was with Kobayashimaru.

Elite Force 3 would be awesome, I loved EF1 and 2 and I would love an EF3.

Armada 3 would also be fantastic. I have A1 and A2 installed on my computer, I just love RTS games and there aren't enough space RTS games. A1 and A2 easily being the best of that genre.

I would love to see a Mass Effect style RPG for the consoles (as well as PCs). ME is awesome, and the idea of an ST:ME style game would be unreal! There is so much potential there, fanfics and other licence works have always played with the ideas of things such as Starfleet Marines and Powered Armours, so they would have a lot to build from. I personally would like to see an armour that deployed over your body like the the Molecular Armour form VOY:Endgame.

I would also like to see some expansion into non-classic areas of ST. Like a horror game set in the Star Trek universe. Your a lone redshirt trapped on a drifting constellation class (they always struck me as creeping in the dark) with monsters jumping out of every corner. Like Star Trek meets Dead Space.

what i want to see is a revival of that "Borg Assimilator" game that was cancelled in 2001. it would be awesome to play Star Trek like Age of Empires
