Howdy All,
I hail from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA (where Breaking Bad was filmed)
I am 30 years old
First got interested in Star Trek by watching TNG as a kid on a 19" RCA CRT TV (That weighed 40lbs. and had a vertical hold problem)
Fav Book: The Peacekeepers
Fav Character: Hard Choice, its even between Data, LaForge, and Montgomery Scott
Fav Episode: Again hard to choose, but "Chain of Command" - so 1984-ésque
Fav Movie: Star Trek The Motion Picture - V'Ger
Fav Quote: Instead of choosing something obvious, how's this:
Pakled Commander Reginod: We are strong.
Lieutenant Geordi La Forge: You're armed to the teeth.
Pakled Captain Grebnedlog: Teeth are for chewing.
Fav Series as you might have guessed is TNG
Fav Games: STO - either haven't played the others or I've forgotten
In RL I am a total Pakled, seemingly disorganized and at times oblivious, but deceptively tactical, and introspective, an engineering student with 180 credit hours, but still no degree (Learning is fun)
Also, my STO character name, Rymnod, is a take on a double entendré of Nimrod. Nimrod in American English is slang for idiotic, but, like a Pakled's intelligence, the name is misleading. Americans got the idea when Bugs Bunny called Elmer Fudd a little Nimrod - the first use of it as slang - however Nimrod in this context means a great hunter (albeit, sarcastic), refering to a biblical king and hunter by the name of Nimrod.

Thanks for introducing yourself, nice to know I'm not the only person that really enjoyed The Motion Picture. I know a lot of people criticise it for being slow and for the lack of action but personally I thought it was really enjoyable, it is nice to see the crew of the Enterprise doing some real exploration and V'Ger is such an interesting character/concept.
Have you read the Cold Equations trilogy? I don't want to post spoilers but you might enjoy it.
