Hi all. I'm a UK Male player (the wrong side of 40) in the Derbyshire area
I have played games since the Atari console days, Spectrum days, Amiga 500 then straight to PC. Never got into the boom in consoles. My MMO life has been limited but rewarding, and I have made some very good RL friends out of it all. Starting on Space Merchant (Realms) moving to Runescape, and then being spoilt rotten by Star Wars Galaxies 
I played that from Pre-CU JTL till the servers closed, a sad loss indeed. I then moved to Lord of the Rings Online, World of Tanks and STO. I played STO a little while back, got to lvl 50 quite fast then stopped playing, this is my first foray into Fleets and I'm looking forward to any time I can spend here.
I have played a few other games but I've only listed the ones I stuck with for any good time.
I'm into Bikes ( the motored variety, and mainly Classics 
), homebrewing Ale & Mead, Bike racing, Drag-Racing, Fishing, Martial Arts and "some things many consider..... un-natural!" I have a good sense of humour, and enjoy a lot of friendly banter.
Only other thing is, although I've played STO for 6-8 months in total, it was a while ago and I'm not very conversant with MANY of the controls and options, so please be patient if I ask for help, although I'm pretty sure you will be

Welcome to the community, My MMO experiences are short as well was more into the console something about a control pad rather than a keyboard was more fun to me that soon changed. Cant say am into bikes more of a car person but did have a thing for honda goldwings back in the day.

The current STO is a completely different game from when it first came out. However, we do have an incredible collective (bordering on borg levels) of knowledge about the game. Thx St3a1th, yh LOTRO's been going for a few years now, I think they're upto Western Gondor as far as the storyline content goes. It was good enough, realistically pretty and a very friendly, helpful and laid back atmosphere to the community. But! Too many bugs for me now and not really FTP anymore.
I'm liking the STO world though. It's very.... familiar, I like the storylines, and..... it's got me making lots of lists and notes, scribbling crap down on bits of paper for later, lol. That instantly tells me I LIKE it

I think everyone got spoiled rotten with SWG. That was my first MMO and still the best/most fun I think I've had playing online games. SWG was from an era where games were unapologetic about how hard/complex the actual gameplay was to learn and truly master.
I think that is part of the appeal of STO to me is that it does take time to lean all the intricacies of the game. I know I've still got a lot to learn!

Homebrewing mead sounds amazing! Might have to look into that myself...

Absolutely Phil, on the SWG & STO comments
And the Mead is so simple (Honey water and yeast), you just have to let it mature some time for a VASTLY improved flavour (and that's not as easy as making it)
