Well, the die cast parts and shipping will do that in a heartbeat. 100 issues to complete the ship, which means you're in for a long haul.

I know we've looked at including more bitz and pieces with my companies' mag, but as soon as you have to pay real world wages to polybag it all, and ship it, the price becomes unbelievable if you're going to turn any sort of manufacturing profit on it (Typically MRSP is 50%)

... still though, that is one tempting looking ship. I hear she's fast

I bought the first issue of this today, the quality of the parts is very good, but some of the metal parts become loose easily. Also (not the biggest of problems), there are screws in this model, but you don't get the screwdriver until the second issue.

The price in the UK is £8.99 per issue and I notice this is a weekly = £900 for the complete build

Hmmm - I would love to, but the price is a little steep.

So, with the first issue, you get a blueprint which is 1:1 scale of the completed model. Here's a picture of the blueprint with a 2 litre water bottle against it for scale:

Thanks for sharing. I'd be more interested in building an imperial star destroyer tho. 1:1 scale compared to the falcon ;-)

This definitely is a bit pricey, very cool though. It's not so much the size of the thing which bothers me. I'm just not willing to pay out so much money for a model when I'm sure there are plenty of affordable alternatives out there.

This would make for an awfully fun project though. If anyone here decides to go ahead with this it would be great if you could get a progress thread up on the forums so we could watch it come together!

Well, I'm going through the with building this particular model, my wife says I need to express my inner need more freely. I should be picking up the second issue on Tuesday. I'll either keep updating this thread or start a new one that goes through the building process and include images.
