    I recently Decided to Remake my Old, derelict Scimitar Dready, I plan to update its build ( I kinda Rerolled my Rom TO, for the KDF side, much to my glee Big Grin)

    Now while still contemplating on what to use as my main fer the KDF side (Frankly I am more of to hell wit it...)

    You can't get 5 Omni-arrays. The maximum is 1 Crafted, 1 Set - which is only possible with AP.

    You have APB, and as a Tac Captain you'll have APA. So you use Romulan Engines for the +30 to Attack Pattern skill.

    That leaves the Deflector and Shield slot for Nukara, to get the 2-piece bonus. CC Deflector has depreciated in value at endgame when we get more Acc bonuses, but it's still handy before you manage to get the Specialization points, if you're willing to spend the resources.

    Fleet Vulnerability Locators of the appropriate damage type in all Tac slots. No exceptions.
    Scimitar set is for novelty purposes only.
    Leech, Assimilated Console, and Zero-Point go in Eng slots.
    Unless you have better Universal consoles, as a RomPlas beamboat with a Leech, Flow Caps [+Plas] in the Sci slots. Valdore console and Bioneural Infusion Circuits would be better than Flow Caps.

    Romulan Drones are better for (almost?) all situations than Romulan Scorpions. At least pre-DR in ISE, a single hanger of drones parse about the same as two hangers of Scorpions, which is noteworthy given that Scorpions are at their best in ISE.

    Unless you plan on using batteries, you don't need any ranks in Starship Batteries. 3 Ranks is needed for an Engineering Captain to get the most out of their EPS Manifold Efficiency trait, which Tac Captains don't have.

    6 Ranks in Hull Plating/Armor Reinforcements is excessive in my opinion. Rank 3 is most efficient. Ranks 4-6 gives less of an increase in Damage Resistance Magnitude than Ranks 1-3, and Damage Resistance Magnitude (sort of) has diminishing returns in relation to Damage Resistance (the percentage of damage reduced). Plus this stuff only applies to hull damage, and since your shields should be up all the time (easier with the Valdore console) that means it only applies to bleedthrough - which is why we use Resiliant shields (like the Nukara shield).

    You want 6 Ranks in Auxiliary Performance. You'll be power-starved enough, and Aux goes towards the T4 Nukara traits as well as your heals. 9 Ranks in Warp Core Performance may be excessive, you're barely getting anything from Rank 9 compared to Rank 6 (something like +1.5 power?). If you're going to max out a power skill, I hear it's the Weapon Performance skill that should be maxed out. With Leech though, Rank 6 in all of those is fine. Warp Core Efficiency should be Rank 6, especially since base power levels in a Rom ship is lower.

    You will want at least 6 ranks in Starship EPS, I've been informed that it's related to Weapon Power Overcap.

    You may want Sci Team over TSS, for the debuff clearing. Not really necessary before fighting the Borg Queen or Delta quadrant enemies, but once you get to them we face a lot of annoying confuse effects. I personally made the switch when it was pointed out to me.

    Pirate stacks, but are strictly inferior to Superior Romulan Operative (especially since SRO usually comes with Subterfuge). Personally I still use the potatohead Sci BOff since he's got both Pirate and Efficient.

    1. At the fleet embassy, on one of the consoles on the Ops level. I think one of the light blue (rare) males has SRO. There is a fairly high amount of fleet credits and dil involved in this though.
    2. For EC off the exchange. Last I checked they were less than 5 mill each, though their actual price varied depending on their career type.
    3. If you are levelling a toon, you can earn them through that process.

    SRO's come from story missions as a Romulan/Reman or you can buy them on the exchange.

    Link doesn't appear to work.

    What does this mean? [Pref CrtD, DMGx3] - do you want those mods? DMG is the weakest standard mod, CRTD the strongest, CRTH 2nd and acc 3rd. Pen is considered #2 if we are talking about all mods available.


    Fore Weapons:

    x3 Romulan/ Fleet Plasma Dual Beam Banks [Pref CrtD, DMGx3] (mixing banks with arrays is not recommended. you'd want to pick one or the other, ie broadside with all arrays and the KCB or 5 DBBs in front with the crafted omni, KCB and i guess a turret. Oh where is the experimental rom beam array if you're going romplas? works well with the zero-point which I'd keep since you dont have any lobi consoles

    Aft Weapons:
    x1 Omni Plasma Beam Array [Pref CrtD, DMGx3] (only use omni if u run DBB's see above)

    What doff's are you using? That will affect recommendations for a good boff layout. Below is the standard high dps one. This assumes you're using 1x Zemok, 1x Dicrok, 2x DCE's, 1x Dlyrene, 1x Dulmur. If you want more survivability, your setup seems fine but I'd make a few adjustments, see 2nd below.

    LtC Tac: HY1 / TT2/ FAW3 (HY1 is to help proc inspirational leader trait)
    Ens Eng: EPtW1
    Cdr Tac: TT1 / APB1 / FAW3 / APO3
    Lt Eng: EPtS1 / dem1
    Lt Sci: he1/tbr1

    2x ET CD doffs, 2x DCEs, 2xST CD doffs for survivability
    2x Dicrok (doesn't proc as often as he used to), 2x DCE's, 1x Dlyrene (or vs race doff as applicable), 1x battery doff (exocomp, when u use a weapons battery, gives 10% bonus dmg - which isn't really a flat 10% but it's still nice to have) for DPS

    Like Ark said, as a Rom you should be able to get a bunch just from going through the story missions.

    The skills looks alright to me, I wouldn't put 9 ranks in Warp Core Potential though, the bonus you get is minimal. I know Vel'gon and the like tend to max out EPS for overcap, but I'm not sure how that works exactly.

    So which is better fer DPS atleast fer plasmas? Rom or Fleet Plasma? :/ I already started on working on meh Doff setup and will adapt accordingly... by level 50 I guess I am gonna buy the Valdore by tommorrow... and gots the plasmonic leech already ( I already unlocked it for meh earlier KDF character...) Thinking of doing it with all beam arrays...

    I am still kinda on a EC crunch,mostly due to meh Upgrades on meh Fed sci [my main]... I'm glad to see that meh scimi is finally getting sum use... hopefully I could get stuff done soon... XD

    Question: Can I Replace TT1 wif an BO1? :/

    Rom-plas hands down - modifiers from fleet are no bueno plus you lose out on the experimental/zero point set bonus. You want the [CRTD]x2 ones.

    If you drop TT1, you can no longer cycle it on CD unless you use 2x TT doffs that reduce TT CD.
    Arrays are fine, but you should use the KCB.

    You don't need EC to do well, just to min/max.

    Anyone need a Fed aligned Rom Science Boff with an SRO trait..? or is there a work around it..? If I can't reset its alignment I need to trade it with an KDF aligned one...

    I'm unsure as to how it works, not if it works. I mostly just took their word for it, since I run Engineers and my power levels are good without having to worry about it.

    Note that you have two FAW3, so there's no reason to take a BO1, it would just mess up cooldowns for no gain.
