Well he is basically a joke in the comic book world, mostly because of the super friends cartoons and such where he was a tool. Then again, before the Thor movie, he was pretty much a joke in the marvel universe. I hope they go the dark path with him, where he has to cut off his hand to save his son and replaces it with a hook. But yeah aquaman is pretty much known as that picture right now lol.

He was a joke until they rebooted him in the 2000's. Since then, he's become a serious superhero.

Apparently Unite the Seven is a reference to the JL, not the 7 seas as most people thought. They are using the newer version with Cyborg instead of Martian Manhunter which probably is a good idea overall, even though I like Manhunter. I know the new superman movie is basically a prequel to the Justice League movies, I know they are introducing Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman in it, which means it'll probably be a tangled mess. No idea why Snyder thinks that's a good idea when 2 of the 3 have solo films due soon. For anyone that hasn't seen the pic, this is Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, although she looks more Natalie Portman and less Teri Hatcher in most of the stuff she's done.

Only excited to see Affleck as Batman since i really like his work as an actor so i cant wait to see how he aproaches this role.

BLASPHEMY! Did you even watch daredevil? And Nicolas Cage was originally supposed to be Iron Man. Sad but true. Momoa is a perfect Aquaman, and I assume they chose Gal because they are using the Greek Arc Amazons, where they have super human god given powers. If you look at the Amazons from a historic view they were always beautiful (although they cut off a boob to use a bow better). The pics I've seen from her (other than that casting shot) she has put on some muscle, and I trust Zack Snyder, so we'll see. I would have loved to have seen Bale back as Batman though.

Lol Blasphemy you say? Could be but come on who in Hollywood hasnt done a bad movie,dont know why but in my mind it seems that Affleck's batman will be superb,im getting that vibe that his method of acting and his experience will make for a good batman,we can only wait since we still havent seen a trailer yet....mark my words he will be a good batman maybe "different" but still good.

P.S: Daredevil wasnt really that bad,give it a 4/10.Best thing about the movie in my opinion was Colin as bullseye,he has a wide range in his acting,guy impressed me with his comedy skills in horrible bosses,didnt know he had it in him.

Here is why I like Momoa and Gadot's casting. The DC heros are all too pretty. Green Latern hasn't been officially announced yet since Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool again, so not sure if he'll be back, but he's too pretty to be Green Latern. Henry Cavill, Ray Fisher, Ben Affleck, even Grant Gustin if they pull him off TV, are all "pretty" people. Bale's success as Batman had a lot to do with his previous roles all being either loner cracked out or psychopath or warrior. Affleck doesn't do the loner part well, and he has too much romcom in his blood. The only thing he has going for him is his age at this point, at 42? he can play off age lines as grit I guess. I think he'll be fine in the suit, the suit could make anyone look awesome, Snyder really pulled that one off. But I don't think he'll fit the Frank Miller Batman profile, which is, the best one. I have been wrong, I thought Downy was a bad choice even though he's awesome, until they made Stark the centerpiece and not iron man. If Snyder writes the role for Affleck, like Favreau did for Downy in Ironman, it could work.

I disagree with you on Keaton, but not for the reason you think. I actually liked Keaton until he was interviewed for birdman, and said that he hadn't watched any of the Batman movies but his own and that Christopher Nolan was no Tim Burton. For the time it was made, the first Batman movie was ground breaking, in a time where comic movies were basically non-existent. I do trust Snyder, he has done a lot of great work, and based upon his casting in Watchmen alone I give him the benefit of the doubt. He inherited Cavill but he wanted Affleck, and if he sets up Affleck in the role of the wise, conditioned hero in that is the main instigator of the Justice League, I think he could do well. If they set him up to be a Christopher Nolan, kick butt and blow stuff up type role, I just think it might fall flat.

As for Gal, there's a lot of rumor that, since she's listed as Diana Prince and not Princess Diana, that they are going to follow the "love interest of batman" arc. She was a fitness instructor in the Israeli military so I'm sure she knows how beef back up, but I think they are gonna go for the atheletic lasso and tiara throwing version rather than the sword and board version. A shame really, I heard the chick who played Lady Sith in Thor had auditioned for the role but that the Marvel/DC rivalry is basically what stopped her..

I'm an Aquaman fan. I grew up watching plenty of Aquaman animated TV shows. He is one of the reasons that I became a fan of the underwater science fiction sub-genre.

Aquaman has gotten a bad image because of all of the silly YouTube videos portraying him as totally useless when he's on dry land. However, this is not true & I'm very confident that Jason Momoa's upcoming portrayal of Aqauaman will help to restore Aqauaman's reputation as a truly "badass" superhero!
