When you purchase a Research and Development Pack from the C-Store and open it, you will receive either 10 Lobi Crystals or an all new Tier 6 Jem’Hadar Strike Ship, in addition to the Research and Development Pack.

As an added bonus, owners of any other Jem’Hadar starship will be able to equip the Dominion Defense Screen universal console (details to follow in a separate blog) that is found on the Jem’Hadar Strike Ship. Equip all 3 special Dominion consoles on one of the three aforementioned ships for a special set bonus that improves the Dominion Defense Screen console.



The Jem’Hadar Strike Ship has a brand new customizable appearance and also includes the original Jem’Hadar Attack Ship’s costume. This starship also features the Jem’Hadar Bridge.

NOTE: Newly purchased Research and Development packs will only offer the chance to win the Jem’Hadar Strike Ship during this promotional event. If you were one of those who spent (potentially large sums of) real money on keys to get the original bugship, how are you feeling right now?

To me, it's a pretty clear signal that your much-loved lockbox and lobi ships are no longer a safe investment, whether you paid for them indirectly with real cash -> keys or obscene amounts of EC. I've never played the lockbox lottery and I have to say I feel somewhat vindicated by today's announcement. The same could be said of c-store ships, but those at least are a set cost I can budget for, with no element of luck or the need to be space-rich.

As far as T6 canon ships go, I'm flipping Cryptic the bird on the Pathfinder; I've had the LRSV Retrofit and the Bellerophon for years - a discount on the T6 would be nice. A bit like a trade-in on a newer model of car, for example.

I wouldn't spend a huge pile of real money on something that is a chanced based item. That isn't sensible. For a single ticket every once in a while, sure. Just to experience the "thrill".

The rest of my money will go to a brand new car (ship). Sure, it'll get replaced by a newer and fancier model in probably a year or twos time, but I'll still love the one I have.
