    Today I bought Elite: Dangerous - to fill the gap that Star Citizen has carved into my heart - and I was just looking out for others that play it?

    As I would love, in the future, to be able meet up with some of you guys.

    I am just worried the game is crap. I've not seen a single review of it, and I don't feel like the website gives a good indication of what the game really is. Are there guilds/corporations? Are the ships on the site the only ones? If they are, can we expect anything larger later on down the road? I'm all down with a B2P Eve Online, but I'd rather wait for Star Citizen if this game is terrible.

    ELITE Is hardly terrible

    I have a friend whos brother invested thousands of USD on star citizen then found elite dangerous and now regrets dropping 7k on star citizen.

    from what I hear they plan on eventually letting players own houses on stations (possibly planets and there adding planetary landing) owning capitol ships (like the Farragut class cruisers in at any Capitol Ship markers my name of them might be a bit wrong)


    and they to like star citizen plan to possibly allow you to board other players ships at some point

    me personally I love the game its everything(almost) star citizen is planning to be right now

    I read someplace that if the current playerbase wanted to see every solar system In ELITE it would take somthing like 35 thousand .years or something theres like 400 billion star systems and no true'end' to the game(that ive found anyway)

    its main downfall is it dosent have the HYPE star citizen does and as such dosent quite
    have the budget

    Interesting, I have played Elite: Dangerous, and have loved it. Was worth the $60 I put in it, and I feel like with SC 1.1 now live, I have been watching people play it, and can't wait to get into Star Citizen!

    I feel like it is making EBig Grin look like a generic brand of pop-tarts, good, but just not the real thing!

    Still on the fence whether to try this or not, with Star Citizen such a long way off. Is it a good filler?

    Read a lot of comments on forums and reddit etc, seems like a marmite game.

    Well, i equipped myself with a Thrustmaster HOTAS last week and a copy of the game today. Have to say, a lot to take in, but i have the free time generally, very impressive so far though.

    I find that Elite: Dangerous is quite a great filler game! And works on my little laptop too, at lowest settings.

    I used to play a lot. I've managed to buy a better ship so i can at least fight back when i'm intercepted. I think i'm docked somewhere near Earth, at least i was when i last logged on. I only do small courier jobs and a little smuggling. Once you find a good trade route it is easy to make money.

    I just bought the game myself, it was on sale for $15. One of the things I like about it is that you don't have to be combat oriented.

    I love Star Citizen but they haven't implemented any of non-combat mechanics yet.

    I still play STO but really I am just filling DOFF, R&D and Admiralty missions right now waiting on a new episode.
