Anybody like Battlestar Galactica?

I'm on Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica *the 2004 one

Must say I'm really enjoying BSG. The uniforms look a lot more 'real' than the Star Trek ones.

Not sure what to think of Saul Tigh.... bit of a jerk and a drunk.

EDIT: I've almost finished the new BSG show. Should I watch the 1970/1980s version after?

Also watched Razor & Blood and Chrome.

Do we like BSG Hell Yes we do some more than others have a passion for it "cough...SammyGM" was a good show the old ones are not to bad if you want some more story from another prospective. Some times I think the Galactica is almost as famous as the Enterprise but the sheer size and beauty of that ship is epic the flight pods I like most of all even though I still cant get the shape right on MC.

The 1980's one you shouldn't watch, the one season piece of crap one. The original is fun to watch, you'll see a lot of familiar names . You might want to check out Caprica, it only ran for one season (I believe) but it is good.

If you do end up watching the original, then you'll get this joke

Simply put: BSG is the best! Epic space battles; deep storyline; beautiful ships; and a well rounded ending - what more could we ask for?

Whilst Star Trek, is Star Trek, and is much bigger / longer than BSG, I find that the BSG storyline is so much better, with it being more concise, and in depth.

The only real storyline which would have any comparison - in terms of Star Trek, in my opinion - would either be the Dominion War or Voyagers journey home. This is only due to the fact that these were consistent storylines.

Whilst I would have loved to see more BSG, the four seasons they made were just pure brilliance. Unlike a lot of shows out there, it didn't keep on going, the whole time they had a clear direction and knew it would be best for the show to come to a natural end.

To summarise: I love BSG. I don't personally think it's a good idea to watch the original, as I didn't like it, but if you want something to watch, it may be worth it.

I am not sure how many of you has played BGSO... Tho the awesome fleet battles of the game; its one of my fondest memories; 3 Brims + Peggy; with each carrier gots a minimum complement of 7 fighters each (which are player ships I might add...) plus a number of (player ships too) escorting ships (liners, escorts, command ships) its easy to get lost in the sheer complexity of battles (big or small) on its Open PVP maps

P.S.
its also one of the few games meh hubbie (then fiance) got to play... its kinda wierd flying wing gal wif him XD

I started watched after playing the BSG board game with a few people from here, a lot more of the game makes sense plot wise now. It is a good show but it's extremely dark, I don't think there is a fair comparison to be had with Star Trek, BSG is far too dark to even compare, DS9 might have been a little darker than most of the other Trek series, but no where near the same level.

I loved the show up until season 3.

Then it started to become a bit too soap opera'ish for my taste and I stopped watching it.

Maybe I should pick it up again...

You left out the really best parts: Tricia Hefner, Katee Sackhoff, Kandyse McClure, Grace Park....

And which old one were you referring to, 1980 or the original? The Original was good until the new one came out, and it's still kinda fun to watch cuz of the old names and such.

I admittedly like BSG more than Star Trek. Something about it really pulled me in. Part of it is the tech. It's futuristic, while not am end all be all I push a button and ♥♥♥♥ is all better style. Plus storyline from start to finish. While to me Trek has that story line, but youd dont see it all, like you do with BSG. I think thats part of why I liked Enterprise. They were just starting out, had some cool tech that wasnt completely tested or they were unsure of.

I did try to watch the original and couldn't get into it.
