Hey everyone,
I'm getting ready to start up a recruitment thread on the War Thunder Forums, which will need a Squadron as motivation.
I would like to clarify, is there already a Squadron that can be used and adapted into the UFP that members are already running or will I need to create a new Squadron that is UFP orientated.
Please bear in mind that if there is already a Squadron and it has a name that may be taken as offensive, I may opt to create a new squadron off the bat.
I would also like to thank everyone for thier patience while SFHolo is being established

47RAF "The Fighting ♥♥♥♥s" I believe is the UFP Squadron.

You can change the name on the squadron, but I think it might be best to create a new one. Quite a few people have irreversible commander permissions.
I think I'll go down this route as, although I recognise history, some people may take 'The Fighting ♥♥♥♥s' the wrong way.

I think the best course of action, would be to start another squadron as Sammy suggested, just so the administrative powers that Commanders have permission to do, is limited to the appropriate people. This also allows us to cut down on numbers, mainly in the case of inactive players.

We should start a new Squadron, I think that is the quickest and easiest course of action. As for a name, what about Nova Squadron (-NS- being an abbreviation) or just Red Squadron (-RS-) These might be good choices, that is if we're going for something less direct than just a name like 'UFP Squadron'
Both are canonical to Star Trek and they sound cool 
I realise that both Squadrons were full of Cadets and that both suffered casualties on-screen, but we can gloss over those facts

I think starting a new squadron would be the best idea, and I love Ben's name suggestions.
I will also not shirk my duty as a red shirt ensign to perish a needless death so that my superiors may return to base unscathed :mrgreen:

Just to throw in my opinion, I'm definitely liking the sound of Red Squadron. To be honest I'd be happy with either of Ben's options. With regards to recruitment you could present the squadron in much the same way as the STO divisions do so on the STO forums, for example:
