2422. The Veonians experienced their worst nightmare, an all out attack from a technologically superior empire, the Imari Zealots. In less than two years the entirety of the Veonian Fleet has been wiped out and the Capital homeworld, Alaria was under siege. Within 24 hours of the siege, Director-General Irva na-Forkan surrendered to the Imari Zealots.
The costly and deadly war against the Imari Zealots has left the Veonians in ruins. Whilst they still retained some form of autonomy, the displacement of many Veonians and the subjugation of the entire domain has left a schism that most likely will never be mended. The war has opened the once isolationist Veonians to the entire galaxy.
2424. After the war, the Imari were quick the impose their rule. In once swift stroke, the Imari changed the way of life for many Veonians. The Nijil system, once the beacon of the Veonians technological prowess, and home of their strategic resource industry was annexed by the Imari and is being used as a staging ground for any further aggression against the Veonians.
All but one of the Veonians shipyards were disabled, and put under guard of the Elite Imari Holy Guard. The Veonians were allowed to have a small token defence fleet of a couple of corvettes and destroyers
Director-General Irva na-Forkan, the leader of the Council of Scientists, Veonian Council, and the Scientist who oversaw the Terraform Gaia Project and the Ring World Project, was arrested and subsequently publicly executed without trial, on charges of crimes against the Imari Zealots. The old council was dissolved, and replaced with a Council of representatives from each of the six remaining colonies.
2428. The Galaxy and the Veonian Council saw relative peace for a few years. With the political landscape somewhat settled, it was time for the Veonian Council to rebuild their domain and economy. It was during this time a young council member from Burtios Prime came to prominence. Rhoa na-Ilper, daughter of the famed Counselor Nara na-Ilper representative of Burtios, became the second Burtios representative after her mother died. As the new representative, she sought out a way to restore the strategic resource industry that was lost when the Nijil System fell in Imari hands. She began to drafted up a 2 year plan to turn the Burtios System into the industrial hub of the domain.
2438. Diplomatic tensions between the Imari Zealots and the Anti-Purifiers of the Northern Expanse began to deteriorate rapidly, with the Noodle Kingdom and Kentucky Fried Chicken pressuring the Zealots to return their former Systems. This did not go unnoticed to the Council of Representatives. The Council organised and emergency meeting at The Bastion space station, one of the Veonians last and oldest space station. It was there where the Council members drafted a declaration of independence from the Imari Zealots. They formed a secretive provisional government with a leader. Rhoa na-Ilper was unanimously voted to become the first Chief Counselor of the Veonian Council.
During her tenure as Chief Counselor, Rhoa na-Ilper she secretly enacted rapid reforms to prepare the Veonian Council for a war time industry. Many of the reforms were in the same vein as her popular reforms back in Burtios.
2439. War was once again upon the Galaxy. The Anti-Purifiers declared war against the Imari Zealots for their lost systems. This couldn’t be more of a better time for such war to happen for the Veonians. Unknown to the Imar Zealots, the Neutron star of the Ascella System; the gateway system to the Veonians, bursts out a high amount of radiation that renders subspace communication useless in a 30 ly radius every 20 years for a few months. This was perfect, because the Imari staging ground in the Veonian Council, the Nijil System was within the that 30 ly radius.
Chief Counselor Rhoa na-Ilper, ordered an all out attack on the disabled Veonian shipyards to reclaim them from the Imari Guards. With the communication disruption the Veonians were successful in the attack without alerting any Imari. The shipyards were turned back online. Transport ships were waiting to supply the shipyards with the much needed strategic resources that were needed. Thanks to Rhoa’s reforms and her expert knowledge in logistics, everything started up smoothly and the shipyards were in full production, rebuilding the Veonian Council’s fleets.
2440. With the war now raging on for 8 months, and the Imari fleet diverted to deal with the Anti-Purifiers. Chief Counselor Rhoa na-Ilper entered negotiations with the Anti-Purifiers, to form an Alliance to combat the Imari and end them once and for all. The Anti-Purifiers were distrustful of the Veonian’s because of their xenophobia and their historic isolationist ways. Rhoa argued that that era of the Veonian Council was over, that their subjugation forced them to change their ways, and continued, stating that the Anti-Purifiers needed the Veonians to stop the Imari. The Anti-Purifiers reluctantly agreed.
On the 14th of June 2440, Chief Counselor Rhoa na-Ilper officially declared the independence of the Veonian Council and thus triggering the Second Veonian-Imari War. The fleets of the Veonian Council were attached to the High Ground and Cucco Imperium’s fleet, tasked on bombarding Imari planets, and intercepting Imari reinforcements. This continued for a decade
2450. With the War still being in full swing, Anti-War sentiments started to grow. With no end in sight, something needed to be done to end the war in one swift blow. The Veonians had plans for a Colossus for many years, but due to the Imari subjegating the Veonians, it was never built. With desperation at an all time high Chief Counselor Rhoa na-Ilper ordered the Pauunia shipyards to start building a chassis for the Colossus and the Himpra shipyards the weapon. The weapons was a so called “Pacifier beam” was theorised to engulf an entire planet in a bubble, so that no one could enter… or leave. This effort took 8 years to complete
2458. The final year of the war. Even though during the previous 8 years the Imari Capital fell to KFC and Cucco forces, the Imari continued to fight with no end in sight. With high casualty rates, the Anti-War movement caused many disruptions in Alaria. 2 Billion people took the streets in a planet wide protest, demanding the war to end. With the Colossus freshly off the dry dock, something needed to be done. Despite the fact that the Colossus was never tested if it actually worked. Chief Counselor Rhoa na-Ilper ordered the fleet to escort it to the planet of Meskeban III in the Meskeban system for a field test.
The Colossus orbited Meskeban III and begun to spool up it’s Pacifier beam. Due to technical issues it took several days to complete spooling up, but once it was ready Rhoa na-Ilper gave the order. The Colossus fired its beam and formed a gigantic bubble around the planet. Bombs that were meant for the surface just pinged off the bubble. As it was theorised, nothing could get in or out.
The Imari Empress formally surrendered within hours, stating that the beam was an “Act of God”. And thus signaled the end of the Veonian-Imari war, and the end of the Imari Zealots. The Veonian were finally free once again.
Within the next two decades, the Veonians were prep--x-e;fem’#[]£$”£$”5%^&7&*
