As we head into the UFPAC weekend, I wanted to put something on folks' radar. As some of you may recall, I used to run short story competitions here and I would like to do that again. I don't think I'd do them as regularly (probably 2-4 a year) and they wouldn't need to tie into holidays or anything per se. However, I think many of us would enjoy this competition again.
For the most recent example, you can see the planning here, the voting here, and the resulting FNS winning story here.
What I would love is for you to chime in on what you'd like to see for the first new iteration of this. If you would plan on submitting a story or simply reading them, what would you like to see? Vote and reply as you see fit! I welcome any and all feedback at this point, as long as it starts and ends with "Caymen rocks". I jest.
I'll start getting things geared up, based on this vote, for some time in April!

Well, at the looks of it we probably won't be doing a specific theme this first go. When we do a specific theme, it's usually still pretty vague and open to keep the creative flow going. We've done Federation holidays or we could do things surrounding a specific Trek issue (politics, social, etc). So I would welcome suggestions the next time we do a themed contest, but they'd have to be fairly "standard" and open to give people a decent shot at things.
