Just popping in to say hello to everyone before I start trawling through the forums. Username Sthom_1968 on here, @sthom1968 in STO. Numerous characters, two of which (Caradog and Arthwen) are now in UFP fleets (1st and 2nd, respectively); other toons to come in assuming I like the UFP experience. Looks good so far, nice and professional.
Currently running through the Delta recruitment stuff with Arthwen Mihangel, a ¾ Bajoran, ¼ Cardassian (used the Alien race) science officer. Currently on the Cardassian Front missions and just hit Rear Admiral (Upper Half). <grumble> No, I don't know why Cryptic used Captain and two varieties of Rear Admiral; the RN's Captain, Commodore, Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral, Admiral progression sounds a damn sight better, imo...

Watched ToS as a kid, marvelling at the amazing special effects (hey, I grew up with the original Doctor Who, the Gorn Captain looked better than many of DW's tinfoil monsters). Went all through TNG and part way through DS9 before, for some reason, I lost track of it. I missed most of the Dominion War stuff. Never liked Voyager (Janeway's voice, and some poor acting, even by trek standards), never got into Enterprise.
Been playing STO since last summer (got a lifetime subscription) and have 8 characters, all but Arthwen at L60; been trying to see how far I can get solo, but the Delta recruitment bonuses pushed me into going for a fleet

Time to boldly go rummaging through many cubic feet of clutter in search of a pair of headphones (probably fairly easy) and the USB receiver for them (probably about as easy as finding a naked Benzite floating in the Azure Nebula - you're welcome to that mental image
