    Welcome Smile Would have to say Teamspeak is more of a " if you would like " from a gaming point of view it does help to have it on the other side if you enjoy a good verbal conversation its good for that to.

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    As far as teamspeak, one does not need a mic (i.e. you don't need to talk). However, it is quite helpful if you can at least listen in. For STO game events, many of the Team Leaders/Battle Officers, prefer to give instructions/tips via voice. Thus, as others have said, it is 'good to have' but not required. You just miss out on some aspects if you can't at least 'listen in'. Wink
