I am wondering what is the best way to get a promotion ? I have have taken the entrance exam and put my name down to join the fleet on STO.

be patient, you are crewman first class, at certain time intervals (every 10 days i think) you are promoted up to the point of petty officer 3rd class, for your time in UFP. After that you will need to service UFP by working in one of our departments, then its up to your departments COS, XO and CO what promotions you receive. So in a nutshell work hard, play well take 2 and call me in the morning =]

You can still receive NCO promotions beyond the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class if you remain active in games and on the forums. To receive an officer rank, you'll need to work towards obtaining a position in a department.
