Hello Reserves,

After the huge success of Star Trek: Hydra, and the continuation of the universe in Star Trek: Renown; it is time for another Star Trek Bridge Commander roleplay: Star Trek: Audacious. This RP will be the official third installment to the Hydra story, and will follow on from the events in the previous roleplays.

This roleplay will be mostly effected by you! I have a very basic story, that has been co-developed by Sammygm, and that is it the rest is all up to you. As with Hydra, any events that you come up with, will be brought into the overal story arc, and you have control over the story. Before signing up, I would ask that you read the short backstory provided, as it givs you a basic insight to what is currently going on within the universe.

Backstory:

Five months have passed since the Klingon General Metak was defeated and the leadership of the Klingon Empire changed hands. Reports flood in from Federation Intelligence, all of which point towards an alliance between the Klingon and the Romulan Empires. The Federation is beset by enemies and it seems ever more likely that these enemies will set aside their differences to focus on their common foe.

Starfleet is preparing for war. Still weary and undermanned from the Dominion War, the likelihood of a Federation victory against a united Klingon-Romulan invasion is all but impossible. With these dire forecasts in mind Starfleet has ordered three Task Forces: Sigma, Theta and Omega, to begin deep space exploration efforts into the farthest reaches of the Alpha Quadrant. They will be going far beyond the Hydra sector.

This desperate move is a calculated risk in order to discover new resources, technologies, and allies in order to bolster the Federation in its darkest hour. Whilst the Hydra sector yields a vast array of resources, the majority of these are allocated to construction and repair efforts across Federation member worlds.

The Klingons and Romulans have not formally signed an alliance, yet the Federation has another threat to consider. Since the conflict in the Hydra Sector, the Cardassian 11th Order under the leadership of Legate Havat has overthrown the Cardassian government and assumed command of all Cardassian forces. Intelligence reports that Havat is a brutal and aggressive leader. Considered vicious even by Cardassian standards, his assumption of power leaves the Alpha Quadrant in an even more precarious situation.

Under Havat's leadership, Cardassia's government has initiated a series of reforms to return it to a pre-Dominion state. With xenophobic sentiment redoubled on Cardassia, many within Cardassian government have pushed for another annexation of Bajor. How he so efficiently restored Cardassian superiority in the area, we do not know. However, it is clear to see that Havat is a great threat both to Bajor and the Federation as a whole.

With such great military expansion and reconstruction efforts across the great Alpha Quadrant powers, all easily accessible resources are being expended. Hence the need for a mission to explore 'Wild Space'. Your level of success will decide the fate of Alpha Quadrant. The Federation is depending on you. Good luck.

The ships available are on a first come, first serve basis, meaning if you want one of the above listed ships, and you want to get involved then please feel free to sign-up as soon as you're able.

You will be part of Task Force Omega, under the command of Admiral Adam Moorey, alongside veterans from the Dominion War, and the Hydra Conflict, you will effect the story in whatever way you deem fit. Also keep an eye out for intelligence reports inside the Audacious sub-forum, these will give you more backstory to help you get more involved in the story.

Please also bare in mind, that there may be some trouble when hosting servers, so please be patient when attend events as there may be a lot of technical difficulties.

I am simultaneously excited and scared about Audacious. My ship, crew and captain have survived the Hydra Campaign and I will genuinely be so sad if I get killed in action.

Signups are still open for anyone who is interested! Plus, using the multiplayer fix should work, as I managed to get multiplayer running just fine a couple of months ago.

Also, is there a lot of writing involved?

You can still apply don't worry, and we can give you instructions on how to play. There normally isn't any writing involved, some times I do encourage people to put their characters personal log onto an episode summary, but beyond that it's mostly voice. That being said, it isn't compulsory to actually RP, so if you want to just take part and have your character and ship mentioned in the overall RP then that works too.

I'd love to apply but dont have Bridge Commander, and just for refrnece I'm on a MAC, and I'm not positive I could make it every time based off of Work. Which is kind of sad, because I love the RPG ST groups, and want to be part of one outside of STO.

That's a shame, it would have been nice to see a new face at a Bridge Commander SRP. I would like to remind everyone, that you should have multiple versions of the game installed, just in case we have any problems with the stability of any version. versions you should have installed:

- Stock
- KM 1.0 (2010)
- KM 1.1 (2011)
- KM Retro (link above)

If we end up having to use stock, then I'll have to play around with the ship composition, but hopefully that won't be necessary. Please make sure as well, for each install you make sure the 333gameservers multiplayer fix is installed - link also above.

I would like to start Audacious in 2 weeks time (28th June) so please make sure you save this date in your calendar. Thanks for the interest.

I'm not sure I have the proper BC setup. I have the stock, upon which I installed the Retro. If I understand correctly the Retro includes KM 2011 and the multiplayer fix. Is this all I need, except for KM 2010?

I downloaded the KM 2010 zip file.. I unziped it and it was just a folder with files in it. What do I do with this?
