Oh man, so excited about this. Turn-based tactical games are some of my favorites. Enemy Unknown/Within was great--hopefully this expands on that in interesting ways.
I do wonder how the tech progression will work, given all the tech you developed the first time around.

according to an article that I've read you'll be in command of an converted alien ship... and its up to you how to upgrade and use it... as for the maps it involves massive metropolitan areas to secret underground facilities...

Minor resurrection of a zombie thread but I'm obscenely excited about XCOM 2. Have watched some of the YouTube stuff and despite my dislike of the hype train I can't help but be excited by this and Fallout 4 in the same month.
On a side note are any of you playing the "Long War" mod for Enemy Within/Unknown? If not you should check it out, it adds a lot of complexity to the base game such as new, more specialised classes, tougher aliens, soldier fatigue etc. I've started a run at it recently and it's like having a whole new game to play through. Not ashamed to say I've had my posterior beaten a few times by the Aliens but apparently you're not supposed to win every encounter in Long War. Some of it is about recognising a bad tactical situation and getting out without heavy losses. It is worth a look.

Ugh, Fallout 4. I hate Bethesda.
The hype is going to make me want to get FO4 before the good version comes out - the GotY with DLCs, the "final" version which will then have the remaining myriad of bugs and UI annoyances patched by the community.
As opposed to the usual buggy, unoptimized Release version with a crappy UI.
It happened with Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim. I just never learn.

Good news and Bad news here:
Good news: Release date for XCOM 2 announced
Bad news: That date is 5th Feb 2016, not November 2015 as was the original intention.
Thoughts? Please discuss at your leisure.
Personally, I'm a little said we're not getting it "NAOW!"
That said I'm actually ok with this in general as it splits up my 2 most anticipated releases a bit (Fallout 4 and this) and we should get a more polished experience as opposed to a game rushed out the door.
