    As the title says. I am thinking about switching to only 2 VR DCEs on my Drake builds. Does anyone have experiences with that?

    I think most of us only use 2 VR DCEs unless we don't have something better to slot.

    VR DCEs have a 35% chance to reduce the cooldown by 30% (13.5s), which is 1.5s off from minimum.That 1.5s is generally considered acceptable (again, assuming you have something better for that slot, I wouldn't put a random Warp Core Engineer that gives +10 power in there).

    With 2 VRs you get 4 chances in total before you need the ability available so there's only a 0.65^4 = 17.85% chance your cycle will break after the first 30s you start. (This is also a reason not to start spamming until you're already in range.)

    That is correct, I also only use 2 of them, and it works I have not noticed that it ever failed.

    I have noticed that it failed a bunch of times with only 2. That's why I never put less than 3 on any build that uses them.

    It does depend on how long an encounter drags on, I suppose. If I have nothing build-specific or necessary, I definitely prefer 3 DCEs.

    You could also slot the Bio-Neural Gel Pack, you get reduction of 7% to everything and a nice shield boost.
