T6 Heavy Escort Carrier Stats


Two questions:

Is is worth it?

If so, would it be worth slotting all three consoles for the bonus?

The BO seating on the Klingon and Romulan versions looks to be superior to the Fed one.

Fed isn't too bad, you can easily cover the basics:

Lt Tac: TT1/APB1
Cdr Tac: TT1/FAW2/FAW3/APO3
LCdr pEng: EPtS1/???/EPtW3
Lt Sci: HE1/ST2
Lt Uni: ???/???

APB3 instead of APO3 without a Zemok, and with 2 Conn DOffs we can replace a TT1 with KLW1 for the low low price of over a hundred million EC. Probably make the Lt Uni an Eng to grab Eng Team if you want a Pilot ability.

Works fine with cannons too. With a Zemok, straight swap the FAW with CSV. Without Zemok:

Lt Tac: TT1/APB1
Cdr Tac: TT1/APB1/CSV2/CSV3

It's a very nicely balanced loadout that, unlike most Escorts, isn't overly Tac heavy. That was a bigger problem before we had KLW, but getting KLW is a problem in and of itself if you don't have over a hundred mil kicking around.

The KDF is definitely more flexible, a choice between 5 Tac abilities (so 2xConn DOffs a must) or 8 (so 2xTT 2xKLW 2xFAW/CSV 2xAP). If you aren't going all-in with DPS with the latter layout, then you still cover the core DPS abilities with the former while still having the flexibility to become really tanky or play with science abilities.

I actually think the Rom has the worst of the layouts, since with only an Ens Eng I really feel obligated to make the LCdr Uni into an Engineer seat in order to cover the basic Eng buffs and heals. Even as the worst though, it's still a nice layout with 6 Tac for 2xTT 2xFAW/CSV 2xAP.

(Obviously when I look at seating I always see if the basic Tac rotations fit, then the Eng rotation, then Sci abilities I can play with.)

With very very very few exceptions - the novelty console sets are never worth the opportunity cost. We'd have to see the numbers and what catagories the various buffs are.

I dont care for romie or klingon ships but i do like federation escorts that are not too tactical. By now i have to say i love the ship and will get the fleet version for sure

The nice thing about the Fed one is you can go all-in on damage and make the Uni an Lt Tac with KLW1/KLW2, and still cover the core Eng and Sci abilities with EPtS1/ET2/EPtW3 and HE1/ST2. Kind of squishy if you're not an Engineer with another shield heal (RSF) or use Shield Distribution DOffs to turn Brace For Impact into a shield heal, though.

I was really hoping they were going to make the Lt Sci into a Lt.Cmd Sci and make the ensign a universal boff seat. However, the new upgrade isn't bad. I'm debating whether I should pick it up or continue to wait for a Sovereign T6...

According to IQ's page before it was pulled we've got a Prometheus, Galaxy Dread and a Defiant all already in the files. Assuming they continue with a new ship every 2-3 weeks, you have about a month and a half before we'd see a Sovereign anyway.

Depending on how the set and the new console works, you may be able to justify the set for the tac warbird if you had it cannon armed.

For the fed...unless the stats for the bonus are entirely amazing it's pretty unlikely the fed set will be worth it. The point defense consoles are kinda terrible. Maaaaaaaybe on a photon focused torpedo build, provided the torpedo point defense's torps can do AoE damage, and then only in the few bits of content where you get yourself 7-8 targets in a grav well.

So my thoughts on this:

1.) The Akira is a fan favorite design
2.) The Akira get's an updated model (that looks fantastic)

3.) The Akira get's a versatile Boff and Console Layout....

4.) Please Cryptic do those things to the other ships aswell.

I can't think of any ship console bonus set that actually worth using. Ok there is one the dyson sci bundle, but for a very specific anti-cheese pvp build. Other than that, I am going to some fun this weekend with new addition to my fleet[emoji6]

I'm very tempted to get the Alita, but I know I'll want the Sovereign T6, so wait I will... Please let it be the next ship after the listed above!

I want the Sovereign as well (since that one uses the NOBLE class skins), which I like so much I went back to my T5-U to be able to use it.

The seating layout seems fine enough, though I think it would have been more thematic to have a Command Specialization rather than piloting since the Akira commands a squadron and is a big ship (ie. too fat to try and fly like a fighter)
