Here's the question currently being debated. Who was the first Vulcan to serve aboard a Starfleet vessel?

Is it not just T'Pol? Since I don't even think Vulcans served on any other ships from Earth at that time, they had a problem with how humans smelt.

But my knowledge of Enterprise is thin...

It's always been Starfleet, under Enterprise it was known as the United Earth Starfleet, after the formation of the Federation, it became the United Federation of Planets Starfleet, in which some of the duties went into the main Federation entity and no longer managed by United Earth Starfleet.

Hmm I started reading into this as I wasn't sure myself and interesting Wikipedia has this to say:

T'Pol is the first Vulcan officer to serve a prolonged term on a human vessel. T'Pol served aboard the Enterprise for ten years (2151–2161). To compare, the previous record was just 10 days.

Some stated since Spock traveled back to the 20th century, that placed him before T'Pol. Others then went by when the shows were made. Both are interesting arguments for their case, but I still stand with T'Pol.

T'pol or unknown. There's a throwaway line somewhere that states she's the first vulcan to do so and not vulcan-rage quit, but it never actually stated they served on a starfleet vessel (may have been no united earth starfleet at that point). They also may not have been commissioned as a starfleet officer; for example T'Pol started off as "chaperone". If previous Vulcans were in a similar role they wouldn't have any actual rank on the ship.

It is unknown but it was not T'Pol or Spock, in ENT there have been other vulcans assigned to earth ships (I don't think they would assign them to a freighter so something similar) and in TOS there was the U.S.S. Intrepid a ship fully manned by vulcans.

Were said Earth ships Starfleet though? And did they serve on the ship or just observe? I would say a Vulcan observer doesn't count, as they aren't serving aboard the vessel, they are just, watching. T'Pol however, served on the USS Enterprise.

Not that there is anything wrong with sailors, far from it in my opinion, but it has to be the polar opposite of Vulcan....
