Utopia General Elections 2015
It has been a while since we last gathered on "the hill" for a political discussion so I cam calling for general elections to be held,with so many members now retired or have stepped down from these RP positions I feel it is only right we update the current structure.
Topics to be voted on
Utopia Leadership - President,Vice President, Speaker of the House and other various positions.
Utopia Security Council - Continue with the members we have or update it.It has been noted some nations have dropped of the face of the planet since the initial establishment of this current council.
There will also be time made to go over general member floor questions or for leaders to go over future plans or any help they need.
Alliances can if they wish update the rest of Utopia on there current goals,plans or any other topics.
As with past voting one vote per nation and you cant vote for yourself please keep this in mind if there is a tie vote I feel it is only fair that the Holodeck CO be the deciding vote.
Would members prefer casting there votes in a box via the in game functions or a 3rd party website for vote casting like we use for surveys on occasion?.
Please reply below when you will be free to attend?.

RP: As still the incumbent speaker of the house, I am curious to understand, is this a request or a demand?
I am also experiencing the desire to know who it is you've spoken to which meant you did not consult with current leadership before making this announcement. It's just I would have thought you would broach the subject by other means before brazenly calling for an election.

The government of Caprica, whilst unfazed by the affairs of the Utopian Council, condemns this call for an election. That power resides not with the State of Lantea. This push comes across as a pan-Utopian political power-play from the President and politicians of Lantea. The President of Caprica has in the last several minutes ordered the creation of an independent report which explores possible corruption within Lantean politics.
However, Caprica acknowledges the ineffective and bureaucratic nature of the Utopian Council. As such, Caprica officially withdraws from the Utopian Council effective immediately. With the steady growth and establishment of the Confederacy of Sovereign Utopian Nations, Caprica opts instead only to bow to the regulations and laws of the Confederacy.

While the government of Hesperia is hesitant to follow the lead of it's compatriots in Caprica on this matter, it must acknowledge that an important point about the effectiveness of the Utopian Council has been raised.
The Utopian Council has, in recent years, become a tool of various voting blocs to push their own agendas and assert their dominance over smaller alliances and unaligned nations, whilst allowing other, radical nations to continue their militancy and brinkmanship unabated.
While questioning the role of the Utopian Council in modern international politics, the Principality of Hesperia has chosen to maintain it's membership in the council for the time being, in the hopes that the council can be reformed and reinvigorated.
"There's a point where we needed to stop and we have clearly passed it. But let's keep going and see what happens..."

While the Emperor has been on holiday in Naboo for quite some time, he did pass along a message with regards to all this rhetoric.
"The world will never be safe, terrorism can only grow in a world without the Utopian Council. Believe in this fear and trust the one institution which ultimately serves to protect the innocent from sub-utopian terrorists and heretics, namely Turkonia and now sadly, Lantea. Trust in the Utopian Council."
