Hi all, just curious - is anyone here a fan of Paradox Interactive games? (EU4, CK2, Vicky 2...)

I think we have many Paradox fans here, personally, I enjoy playing CK2 both single and multiplayer these days, a lot of the other games I've not really gotten into, they can be quite complex to learn.

I sold my soul to our glorious overlords from Paradox some time ago....

I got like 1300 hours in CKII..... Around 350 in EUIV and 120 in Victoria II between the steam and non steam version.

Since I played paradox games, I cannot go back to civilzation, lol.

Nice one! Would be nice to maybe organise some multiplayer events with those games. I own EU4 and Vicky 2. I also plan to get HoI4 once it comes out.

Can't wait for HoI4. I tried to get into HoI3 but I think there is just way to much going on in that game. Stellaris has me pretty hyped up as well.

Oh yes, Paradox can have all of my money. Got both CK2 and EUIV, but I've been mainly playing EUIV lately, I kind of got addicted to getting achievements in EUIV, in CK2 I never cared about them. Planning to go for Baltic Crusader in my next campaign, was actually thinking of making an AAR of that.

I do own Vicky 2, but me and the UI are not on good terms, so I keep putting off actually trying to learn it, though needless to say, I'm on the HoI4 and Stellaris hype train.

Mount and Blade is probably the only game I've played that they've made and only for the multiplayer.

Also if you intend to convert to EUIV, some prepping of the save might be necessary so it converts properly. EUIV ironman is pretty good though. Forming Germany through the the Hansa and forming the Netherlands were pretty fun games that I had.

Vicky 2 is pretty good once you get the hang of it. The UI is not the best but its eons ahead of HoI3 or their previous games.

Yup I have every game they have made since HoI2 came out and I play them with a good group of people. My favorite Paradox game is Mount and Blade Warband Napoleonic Wars. I know this is a huge step away from their more Grand stage games. Second fav is CKII hands down.

Napoleonic Wars is great fun when you get some people together. Especially when you start a band. With the enemy team. And then go on a tour.

Or when the AI does something incredibly stupid and you just don't want to put up with it. Or you just want to make things interesting.

Gelre into Netherlands was actually my very first campaign, but a patch broke the save, so I didn't end up doing much besides forming the Netherlands. Sometime later I did a Burgundy into Netherlands campaign, got much further in this time, but a patch still broke that save before I could get Sinaasappel!. Germany I have not formed yet, but I did form the HRE a while ago as France, with Spain and Portugal in a PU.

The campaign I had the most fun in would either be my Byzantium campaign, or my most recent campaign as Poland, the first one because restoring Rome just felt good and I love Byzantium in CK2, second because I started it with just the goal of getting the Poland specific achievements (Winged Hussars, One King to Rule! and Poland Can Into Space) but things got weird and I ended up getting The Five Colonies and No Pirates in my Caribbean as well, despite having zero colonists. The Byzantium campaign was an old one, but I still have a small album of the final result of the Poland one, I'll reupload it and link it here

In case it's not obvious already, I can keep talking about EUIV for a while
