Hello everyone,
I'm another transfer from the 12th Fleet, and looking forward to being part of the community! Glad to see some familiar faces over here, and looking forward to meeting the owners of the unfamiliar ones. I've only been playing STO about a year. What's weird is I've been wishing for a Star Trek MMO for years, but never knew it existed until last summer. Go figure. But anyhow, I let in and was glad to meet so many other Trek enthusiasts and friendly people. This is the second MMO I've played (first was Star Wars Galaxies), and the first in which I joined a group/clan/fleet/insert name here, and I've enjoyed the camaraderie.
I live in the Washington DC area but as a member of the military I'm currently enjoying an all-expenses paid vacation to Kabul to advise the Afghan government. My in-game time is a little more sporadic than I'd like at the moment due to a slow connection and a 2GB/week connection limit (which is why I loathe these 1GB+ updates...), but forums are easy to handle. It really seems like a great community and hopefully I can contribute in a meaningful way a little down the road.

Everything's going well here, thanks for the concern/well-wishes.
I was thinking of finding ways to contribute with a little less bandwidth... I've tried an STF or two here without much luck, so it's mostly in-game DOFFing and chatting, occasionally trying the new content.
I did have some fun before transferring here with writing some short stories during my commute to work; I had never written before and it was kinda fun. I might checkout the Shipyard Bar forum some time and see if anyone else is up to anything there.
