There should be something in the game...officially, about Ambassador Spock's quest to reunite the Romulan, Reman, and Vulcan people.

Since Spock endeavored to bring the three together I believe there should be some story, or official conclusion. Both as a tribute to Leonard Nimoy and to the character of Spock, which would properly serve as a closing to the character in my humble opinion.

Perhaps when the devs finally get tired of retreading old missions and when they eventually stop catering to Voyager fans? :mrgreen:

I know it's probably just assumed that there's such a notion, but to have it officially confirmed in game...that would be awesome.

I don't know...don't see Cryptic designing new unique missions anymore

They would happy design a one size fits all mission for all three factions then design something that is unique to a single faction unfortunately.

The way things are going they should just allow all access to each others holdings...KDF can visit ESD...Feds can visit Qo'nos ect ect...they're already building the game like that already exists. Maybe retool some missions and such so Feds can team up and and do KDF missions and visa versa for Fed missions.

As much as unique missions would be liked...Cryptic can't be bothered with such things...especially when they don't make any money from them.

When you've got 3/4ths of the player base as Feds or Feds as the primary player character, it is hard to justify keeping the storyline diverse.

Will we eventually have it? Sure. But I think we'll likely be together as an alliance for the next while before that happens.

Well maybe if they didn't stack the deck from the very beginning....they never ever tried to make the KDF anything more than a side show and they had the ridiculous stipulation that you needed a level 25ish Fed in order to even be able to play Klingon.

It also doesn't help that Qo'noS was designed as a massive, inconvenient, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ maze. When the main hub you start with is a PoS, it really discourages you from playing further.

Really though, from Day 1 they were catering to the Star Trek fanbase, and the Star Trek franchise is Starfleet. Every single part of the main franchise is about Starfleet. Almost all the episodes and every movie is about Starfleet.

Fans of the Klingons are far more hardcore, delving into (to borrow Star Wars nomenclature) the "extended universe" of other media, but hardcore fans of any franchise are always massively outnumbered by the casual fans.

It would be a poor business decision to have split development time equally between them. Frankly, I was surprised they even bothered to have two factions to begin with, it always seemed like they were trying to riff off of WoW.

I've been playing STO (away from time to time) since it was in Beta and bought the lifetime package early in the life of the game. I have never bothered getting my KDF character going. At the time, I was already into my Fed character by the time I had it the level 25 requirement and KDF was mainly PvP and was not impressed with the few missions I had done on the KDF side. From what I have heard, it hasn't gotten much better and just can't bring myself to level that character.

D'Tan was a student of Spock, so it would make sense that he should work towards Reunification.

Why exactly do they need to 'close the character'?

The Romulan Republic has only just been founded in canon and the Alpha/Beta quadrant powers and New Romulus was greviously attacked by the Iconian Heralds.

The Romulan Republic is not ready yet for full reunification and Sela has just disappeared. The remanants of the Romulan Star Empire still exist and they also need to be considered.

If the Federation starts acting unilaterally it could spark another interstellar conflict. Something we seriously do not need right now.
