While I am really enjoying my T5-U, I have been thinking about possibly upgrading to a T6 Ship. My only concern on spending money to get one, is how long until T7 is released and the T6 become outdated.

Have they stated anything on it? I'm guessing maybe a year from now?

I'm sure it will take a while before that happens and I don't think that new T6 Flagships will be outdated anytime soon. I'd get T6 and start enjoying it even more than T5-U

Well since we recently just got the T6 flagships, I think we will be a long way off T7 and also, there would probably be another rise in level for that, though I don't know how you can get higher than Fleet Admiral

I agree that T7 is a ways away, but, we are due for an expansion. October will mark 2 years since Delta Rising.

Thanks for the insight guys, and I decided to purchase my ship yesterday. I picked up the Fleet Faeht Intel Warbird, and wow it is really impressive.

While it is more tactically focused, It still has a Lt.Cmdr and Lt universal I can use for my science skills. This ship should be a lot of fun (despite it being a little squishy..lol)

The Sovereign is one of the best looking ships in my opinion, but hopefully a T6 version would come with an updated appearance to be more inline with the film version. Would also be nice if it had a unique interior from the films as well.

I suspect the Sovereign will be one of the next Federation ships to get the T6 upgrade, the one that I want is a T6 Miranda though! But they don't seem to want to do that.

To me the Miranda would make sense, they cannot deny it was still in service during the Dominion war. That in it self implies the ship was fitted with modern technology. At minimum, it should be made a T5/T5U ship.

Though i was unter the impression that it was only a support ship... cannonfodder so to say. Plus STO is settled quite some time after the dominion war. still id love to see and play a T6 miranda - they would also make perfect federation frigate hangar pets.

Very good point, I also wouldn't mind having them as pets on my Jupiter class. So long as they say "U.S.S. Redshirt reporting for duty" when ever I summon them..lol

Need a pretty big carrier wouldn't you? Otherwise, most escorts would also make good hanger pets, as I don't think they are much bigger.

But still, we have a few other support ships in game and the Miranda is still on the front lines, you wouldn't really send a ship that wasn't equipped with the latest technology. It's a light cruiser so if it is given stats that would make it an escort/cruiser hybrid, then it could work. Might not get too much outing except for by fans, but that's the same as ships like the T6 Excelsior, it's nice but there are better ships around

I think the best way to introduce ships (and maybe keep CBS off their back) would be to create a star ship legacy system. You would have a choice of a few different ships when you leave the academy, and these ships would not be replaced at each teir, but they would go into dry dock for a refit. This way you could play the same ship throughout the game. The Excelsior is a good example as we saw on DS9 it received armor and weapons upgrade that had it able to go toe to toe with the ultra advanced (for the time) Defiant. Ships like the Connie and NX, could be said their space frames simply couldn't be upgraded as they were too rudimentary.

I'd say T6 will likely be around even if we upgrade to a new level cap of 70. Simply put, I don't think we'll see T7 for at least two-three years. They can just make a new mechanic toss in some ships and call it a day.

Besides, I treat any purchase as a costume purchase now. Do I need the T6 skills? Nope, game runs fine without. Do I want to look pretty while making my pewpews look pretty? You bet I do.
