Who are your favourite Star Trek characters and why? That is, if you have a reason!

My favourite character in DS9 would have to be Jadzia Dax. Jadzia is an interesting character to the DS9 crew, people just think she is a young woman but as time goes on we learn so much about trills and dax. I wish we knew more about her past and not the Symbionts; we don't even know her last name before she joined with Dax and that's a shame.

Main character: Data

The character had so many layers to him, and he came with this almost child like innocence to him. It was great watching the character develop.

Support Character: Garak

Most bad-ass character ever! Enough said..

Captain/Admiral James Tiberius Kirk- He is the one who defined what a starship was for "generations" to come.
Commander Charles "Tripp" Tucker- How can any Southerner NOT like a guy who eats catfish sandwiches and pecan pie?
Sub-Commander T'Pol- OK, I admit it. This one is purely sexist. T'Pol is amazingly hot!

There are others but I'll just stop there or I might end up going through most of the casts!

For me No.1 character would be Elim Garak,such a good story and very interesting plot going on around him.
As for Captains that one goes to Jean-Luc Picard,simply the all around figure having the essence of a Star Trek philosophy.

Well, I should run off my favourite characters then! Starting with the most obvious, which would be Seven of Nine, who is part of the reason I picked my name. Then there's Jadzia Dax, shame about her though in the end, didn't like the other Dax host. Janeway of course, she is also my favourite of the captains, now at this point it might look like all my favourites are women, but I assure you, there are male characters I like too! Such as O'Brien, but who couldn't like him, nice, honest chap. Data and Tuvok as well, because I like the kind of serious attitude they both have and an inability to get jokes.

I could actually go on and on, it would be easier to list who I didn't like!

But seriously: my choice would be Cmdr. Riker. I simply like the style he deals with his work and others (superiors and subordinates). Fine guy and to be honest: i think eventually hed make a better admiral than picard

For me it will always be Picard. He's always been what I consider the model Starfleet captain. He's thoughtful, diplomatic and principled.

Almost anyone from DS9... Sisko, Worf, Garak, Bashir, O'Brien, Odo, Quark... Great team and my favorite Star Trek series...

My favourite characters are actually from Enterprise: Archer, T'Pol and Tucker define the definition of exploration of humanity and symbolise Star Trek!

As several others have (correctly) stated here, Elim Garak is a magnificent character. He sees a great deal of development throughout the course of the series.

Other characters that are worthy contenders include: Any character played by Jeffrey Combs, Quark, Odo, Martok.

For me it's Chief O'Brien, because he is the average man who goes to work does his job and than returns to his family.
