    Picard is running away with the poll so far with 12 votes, Janeway second with 6 and then Sisko with 1. Archer and Kirk (either version) not getting a single vote yet.

    Kirk would be my second favorite, especially as you get into the Movies. VI and IV are two of my favorite all time movies, so he definitely has me there for his ferocity and dedication. But as others have stated, Picard is the model captain, and an excellent thespian to boot.

    Whilst all the Captains are able and respectable, Picard is the clear choice for me. He's diplomatic, will defend himself and others when absolutely necessary and his loyalty to the Federation and Starfleet is considered to be of paramount importance.

    Sisko is an excellent leader and a war hero, but his loyalties aren't nearly so clearly defined. He's conflicted between his loyalties to the Federation, Bajor and the prophets.

    Yet that doesn't change the fact that Picard in no way shape or form could get his crew back without the Traveler. All he could do was sit back and beam well wishes into the Traveler. The "magic Borg tunnel" was a transwarp conduit, hardly magical, unlike Picards ruby slipper friend Wink. As too why the Borg never used the conduit before? That's just something you'll have to ask the writers Cool.

    Oh come now, you act as if Picard and crew never used time travel to save themselves over and over and over again throughout TNG. If we wanna play like that, then all the Captains are lousy at their jobs for having too rely on time travel multiple times to save themselves. This argument against Janeway having to use time travel is null since the other captains, even the all mighty Picard, have done it as well for the same reasons. Ferengi Wink
