I love all things star trek especially a new show. But in all honestly, I would rather have an animated or CGI series for the kids. Me and my best friends are trying to get his daughters to watch it, not wokring. Put on Clon wars on netflix and now everybody wants to be a jedi. I just feel that TOS/TNG and the rest of the series won't be relevant once they grow up. I don't mind Star Wars at all. But I remember when I was a kid and the only thing that made car rides shorter was asking dad a bunch of questions about Star Trek. he was so ecstatic that I was curious about it, he was like some kind of starfleet professor. and we were close because of Star Trek.

My niece and nephew are crazy for Star Wars because of the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series. Sadly, they look at Star Trek and yawn... though, they were mildly more attentive for the JJ Star Trek...
A Star Trek animated (CGI) series would be *incredible*. I firmly believe it would bring Star Trek forward among the younger generations.

I don't think Star Trek is as accessible to smaller children as Star Wars is but I still think kids can enjoy it, I do definitely think that with younger viewers Star Wars would probably hold more appeal to girls though as there are a lot more aspirational female characters, whilst Star Trek has many strong female characters which could serve as good role models I don't think they are specifically made to appeal to younger female viewers.
Personally and admittedly selfishly I am sort of glad the new series isn't specifically focused on children, whilst I wouldn't object to a Star Trek aimed specifically at younger viewers it has been over a decade since there has been any proper live action Star Trek.

Personally I don't think Star Trek works good in animated form especially since the only example is the animated version decades ago.
