CBS has released a new Teaser trailer and showcases a new logo for the upcoming Star Trek series in 2017. You can see it here

I personally like the new logo.

I'm trying not to judge the show without having watched an episode yet, but I suppose the logo looks okay.

Reminds me of J.J. Trek's flashy credits sequence. I'm triggered. The logo is pretty cool I suppose, but it feels a little lazy and they could have done a way better job.

Having slept on it, I can actually say I like the font choice. It's actually not a bad teaser at all - it also doesn't strongly commit to anything at this early stage.

I saw this earlier. Also @ 0:15, is that Romulus? If so, following STO timeline?! Either way, the trailer somehow sparked my interest in STO itself and I'm redownloading, me of all people.

As for judging it, I'm not judging anything yet. It's a 2017 at launch and this is just their marketting team drafting something up to get the hype going. Everything is subject to change to the point where they finally release. Tbh, I'm not too overly concerned about the logo or font, I just want the starship and star cast to be awesome!

I'm hoping for a Game of Thrones kinda thing. Crews spread across the galaxy (and, who knows, perhaps even time itself) that we dip in and out of each week. All on their own missions, but with an over-arching story that they're all part of. Some coming into contact with others - maybe a starship stops off at a station, crew members get reassigned etc. The Federation - and indeed space - is quite big, so there are way more stories that you could tell if you weren't focused on just one ship/crew.
I'm not sure a traditional anthology would work, but this approach might...

I'm anxious, seems series are following similar "paths" regardless of those producing them and I tend to not like many "popular" series.

I hope they stick to the ST format. While changed a little from series to series it tends to remain similar. I'm worried they are making this to get new viewers and might not make it like anything formerly star trek...I sincerely hope I'm wrong. I'm also unsure of it being subscription only, viewership will make or break a series and that's more crucial now days than before so I'm not seeing how this will go beyond one season, maybe being available to cable subscribers (most streaming site allow you to log in with your cable subscription info, though not the cable provider in my area) will help more than hurt instead of relying on nielson ratings which don't really reflect a shows popularity per se. ENT and DS9 were the most different but they grew on me, so if this one is maybe it will too...though they still kept very similar "feel" to the other series. I really didn't dig the new movies, didn't feel like star trek.

For some reason I always find ST to have a calming effect when I go back and re-watch any of the series

The way that logo is designed though, seems like Terran Empire'ish or Mirror Univerish. Hmmmm, only time will tell I guess!

I'm hoping for more time travel, like with DS9 visiting TOS. I'd like to see more of that across all series. I think the best episodes and movies are with time travel. One way or the other, the writers squeeze in how humanity keeps better itself, even from TOS to DS9.
