They assimilate the Hazari, the bounty hunters of the Delta Quadrant and convert them into tactical drones I guess the Borg would do the same with the Jem'Hadar.

In time I suspect they could, they would need to isolate a founder first though, then adapt their techniques to be able to handle the ever changing nature of a changeling! But with time, yeah, eventually.

I don't doubt that the Borg would be able to assimilate a Founder. Question is, would the Borg be able to then shapeshift?

Would the Jem'hadar actually bring anything worthwhile to the Borg? After all they wouldn't assimilate the Kazon, and the Jem'hadar are no better!

If the Borg are able to cure the Jem'hadar of their addiction to Ketracel White then they would be formidable tactical drones, but would they see the Jem'hadars addiction to Ketracel White as imperfect, since the Borg want to achieve perfection they would see it as detrimental to their goal and not worth the effort?

I think personally they will assimilate them, but having a ruck of clones might be a problem as they have short lifespans don't they? They might not consider it worth the effort!!

It's likely that the Borg are able to augment their drones to make them live longer, far longer than they could without being borg.

That makes sense but when you think about it surely most if not all of the races that the Borg assimilate require nourishment of some kind. Most species require food, drink and rest, the Jem'Hadar require only Ketracel White and in very small quantities.

To me and you it might be a drug they are addicted to but it is essentially just their form of nourishment and it is the only one that they need unlike the majority of races we've seen in Star Trek.

As part of the assimilation process the Borg must have some way of replacing such dependencies with either a 'one size fits all' solution (such as electrical power which powers the technological systems and allows it to maintain the biological ones) or of tailoring specific solutions to specific species, either way the Jem'Hadar need for Ketracel White shouldn't be an uneconomical problem for the Borg to resolve.

I don't think it would be higher maintenance, the Borg need to manage the nourishment that all the races they assimilate require, the Jem'Hadar's needs in this area are already considerably lower than the vast majority of races in Star Trek. The cost to the Borg should be lower and the performance should be considerably better.
