    Greetings.

I am making this post to inform everyone about a necessary change to the {UFP}'s rules.

We like the majority of gaming clans have operated a Multi-Clanning policy over the years which states that {UFP} members are not allowed to also be members in other clans/fleets that engage in Star Trek gaming.

To try and allow some flexibility for the RPG-X community which is something of a unique entity we have allowed an exemption for some RPG-X groups so that {UFP} members can also be a member of selected RPG-X groups.

Sadly this exemption policy has caused us a number of issues and ultimately it has had a detrimental effect on {UFP}. On several occasions {UFP} or {UFP} member created property or IPs have been used by other groups where {UFP} members have passed on things that they did not have permission to do so.

This policy has also put some of our members in very difficult situations. If a {UFP} member held a position within {UFP} working for a division or department then they are expected to be acting in the best interests of {UFP}, if they are also in another group then the best interests of the two groups may not always be compatible. This puts them in a very difficult position of who they chose and there may be quite a few repercussions for them picking one over the other.

Following consultation with Starfleet Harriers and the Diplomatic Corps we have decided to remove the RPG-X exemption clause from the Multi-clanning rule in order to better protect the {UFP} community and its creations. As of this moment RPG-X and those that play it will no longer be treated differently to our members that play the other games that we support. {UFP} members that are currently in other groups will have until July the 24th to make their decision as to which group they would like to retain membership in.

Whilst this is not a course of action we enjoy having to take we do feel that it is necessary. Our primary focus is and always has been to ensure that our community members get the best possible experience and we feel that by putting members in the position where they may have to balance conflicting interests and where their creations are not adequately protected.

The removal of this exemption does not mean that {UFP} members are not allowed to RP on other servers or that non-{UFP} members are not allowed to RP on our servers. It simply means that {UFP} members are not allowed to be members of other groups. In the same manner a {UFP} member can play STO with members of another clan but can not be a member of that clan whilst they are also a member of {UFP}.

A meeting will take place for any {UFP} members that would like to discuss this change and how it will affect them. This meeting will be held on TeamSpeak on Saturday the 17th of July at 9:30pm BST. If you are unable to make this meeting please feel free to contact a member of SFC by Forum PM.

{UFP} will continue to fully support RPG-X by keeping an active division running, hosting RPG-X servers, developing new original SRPs and by creating unique maps.

    Greetings.

{UFP} has now rescinded the exemption from multi-clanning for those in another RPG-X group. RPG-X now comes under the same rules as all other games we support. In short if you are a member in {UFP}, you may not retain membership in any other clan/fleet/guild/group which supports any Star Trek game, including RPG-X and groups which purely support RPG-X.

While it is regrettable that we have had to take this course of action, after much deliberation it was however decided to be necessary and ultimately unavoidable.
If you are still in another group which supports RPG-X, please contact a member of Starfleet Command immediately, as the deadline for making a decision has now passed, and you are in violation of our multi-clanning rules. If we are aware of the situation, we can work with you to ensure your membership here is safe, if you decide that you'd like to stay on as a {UFP} member.
If you do not wish to stay on as a member because of this conflict, please fill out the resignation form.

Any member caught multi-clanning will likely face instant dismissal, and will find it harder to re-apply in the future, so please do get in contact with us if you have any questions or concerns.
