With the launch of AoY, Captains can now use the older ship registry numbers on ToS ships and there Temporal 31st Century equivalents, which is a nice touch by the devs, however I think this is an option that should be allowed across all ships from the STO universe as it has been shown that a ship will continue to use its original registry number with the addition of a letter when a vessel uses a previously christened ship (best example of this is of course the USS Enterprise).
I am sure I am not the only one who would like to see this as I feel it would add an element of continuity for captain who has had the same ship name throughout all of the ships he has captained.
Do you think this option should be opened up?
(Personally I would be willing to pay for this customisation option, 500Z would be the max amount any more than this and I think players would be put off!).

It is kind of wonky that they limited the registry like that, especially since some of the vessels you can use go back a loooooooooong time.
It should be done by ship, in my opinion. So if the first ship of the class had like NCC 2000, then you could use 2001 - 99999 or whatever the max limit is.

I like that idea, I am just looking for continuity for my Ship, I mean it must drive RP up the wall!

I agree it should be free, but knowing PWE they would try to charge us for it (hence the Poll), I hate that my 25th century Galaxy X can not be NCC1664!

I believe you also cannot re-use the same registry ether, even if you add a letter to the end

True, its another element that gripes me, IMO it needs updating as a registry with a letter should differentiate it as a separate registry to the number on its own.
Hopefully it will be changed now they have released earlier registry numbers with the release of AoY, but there are bigger things in the game that need work (to say that is a whole different thread is of course the understatement of the century!!!).

I believe it along with the name, are in fact blocked. You will however see a lot of 17001, 11701 etc..
