None of the others even comes close. Calling him a wet blanket is an understatement. God knows how he survived the Marquis never mind anything else.

Reason? Well Trek is known for its 'Treknobabble' and generally pushing the limit on what we can accept even if we don't have a clue what they are talking about. Chakotay leaps across the limit with medicine bundles, animal guides and utterly god awful vision quest episodes. I can only assume while writing the episodes the writer was smoking something 'special'

Note before I say why, I do love Kira's character and how she portrays it. But Kira is the worst XO out of the choices. Why? Well she's not part of Starfleet period. While she is still a military lady and I understand Sisko's reasoning for having her and it makes sense for the shows purpose. However she on several occasions just did w/e she wanted to do if especially in the beginning if she didn't care what Starfleet's opinion/decision was. And the Bajorians (yeah with good reason) were not even a part of Starfleet. So he deffinitely should have had a Starfleet XO, but again I did enjoy Kira. Just for the purpose of the poll options, her defiance (hehe) made her a terrible XO right along with T'Pol.

My runner up would definitely be T'Pol, again she's not Starfleet and Tucker should have 100% been the XO and T'Pol should not have "outranked him" in anyway. But since Tucker was also the chief engineer he had to be unavailable most of the time. That whole officer situation was a mess anyways as far as their ranks went. There should have actually been a Starfleet XO AND a chief engineer. And while I love all the ST series shows, I really had hoped that ENT was going to be a series further in the ST timeline than Janeway/Sisko was instead of further in the past. And on a side note I'm not hopeful for the upcoming ST series in 1.5 years if it does happen.

In defense for kira she did just get out of rebellion with cardassians that were occupying her home now starfleet comes in and practically wants to control everything again. I guess it's why she is so passionate/defiant at the start of the series.

Janeway, Dax, Torres & Season 7 Troi all wore proper uniforms.

I thought in the case of Kira and T'Pol was because they were not in Starfleet?

In Kira's case especially. I like the sexy outfit on a woman as much as the next guy or girl, but only if it makes sense for the character. I wouldn't really call Kira's outfit 'sexy' (Granted she made it so, but that's the woman, not the outfit), especially as Odo wore the same kind of thing, but it did help immediately set her apart from the rest. It also fit her character I thought, whereas I always felt 7 of 9's and T'Pol's were really just for eye candy.

I just don't feel she was the best XO because she often allowed her anger and religion get in the way of her decision making, things that are really no-nos for that role. She also had divided loyalties early on, which is something she outgrew over time, but I feel still marks her out of 'the best' category.

For T'Pol I've got nothing, but that is still better than Chakotay, who I thought was a terrible XO. Hence my vote

Poor old Chuckles, the worst XO as decided by the community with 16 out of 25 votes going to him.

Interestingly despite Riker winning the best XO award he got more votes for worst XO than Spock did (1 to 0). I suspect Stormy will not be popular come Commander Riker Day.
