Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the community and have had a great first day so far. People have been very friendly and cool, thanks for that. 
I'm a long time gamer: AD&D 2nd edition to 5th, Magic, Dominion, Euro Tabletop, Race for the Galaxy and years with my first MMO Asheron's Call (great memories).
I'm a long time trekker: Watching TOS with my Dad when I was very young, watching all of TNG and others in prime time as I grew up. I've also frequented conventions when I was younger and plan to go to one later this year in Birmingham.
After a long break I came back to STO as I liked the trek theme. And why do I like the theme? Well, it really comes down to what Gene Roddenberry did, in my mind:
Imagine a progressive positive future.
Something that I think is lacking in the world today.
I'm a father of two very spirited children and also enjoy cycling and yoga.
I'm happy to be here and look forward to meeting folks on the forums and in gaming events.

Welcome aboard! Roddenberry definitely created a universe I'd want to live in which is why I love ST so much as a peaceful person myself. If you need any gaming help/tips this is the community to get it from. I always admired UFP and when I became too busy to try to maintain the fleet I had, I was very happy to have incorporated it to UFP (UFP 4th Fleet). See you in STO
