Hi guys! Just want to let you guys know that I am able to run Armada on Windows 10 with dgVoodoo!
Although the response rate seems to be a bit slower, the FPS is around 25 to 30 while in game. However, the game is playable and nothing seems to be malfunctioning. I saw that there is a patch coming for Armada, I hope the upcoming patch would benefit us users.
Can't wait to see the development of this game, been loving it since I've played around 15 years ago.

Yes actually, I am currently working with someone to make a 1.4 patch!

Until it is ready though I'm not ready to release any trail versions I been working on publicly.
Most of the work has been on free time in between normally and daily routines.

I'll talk with my buddy tonight to see if you can give ya something to play with, but again, until we get the kinks working, I don't want anything to be a public release.

Just an update from me. I recently tried running Armada 1 Multiplayer through Tunngle on Windows 10 with my younger brother, whose computer is also has similar specs as mine, and it works perfectly. If you guys want to join us sometime, feel free to leave me a message.

What are you running to start the Mod up?
For me I just use armada.exe (nothing special)

I was using dxwnd.exe as mentioned in the fleetop post. Tried using Armada.exe with dgvoodoo which worked fine. Graphics look better, can the resolution be changed in-game or not?

Never mind, got it working in Glorious 1920 x 1080 x32. Millennium project HiRes ship models look amazing. I've installed Tuungle so just need to setup some MP dates.

I know this is gonna be one of the first things I do on my PC when I get home from college for winter break. I'm excited to play Armada I for the first time in probably half a decade or more.

So I've been using the Voodoo fix, but I'm having two problems. (They might be related.)

1. My mouse movement is laggy.

2. The game is also appears to be a bit skippy.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

FAQ

1. Q: This Game is old, how will it work on newer PCs?
   A: I know it works for XP, Vista, Win7. I am in the process of Win8/Win10 (I can confirm is working on 1 PC for Win10)
2. Q: Does it have MAC support?
   A: I do not know anything about MAC osX. I can try if the need arises, but as of right now. I don't know of any.
3. Q: Can we play this via Multiplayer?
   A: YES! Tunngle has support for it, but I need to test this further to guarantee.
4. Q: Is this game supported by UFP Tactical?
   A: No, it has not been supported ever in UFP, only Armada 2.
5. Q: Can we use mods for multiplayer?
   A: Yes, but MP SE seems a bit unbalanced. I would need test with more mods to guarantee.

So far I got one player who I know that can run it via Win10 over Tunngle, and I know I can run it. I have seen3 other (random people) in Tunngle (Star Trek Armada 1 channel) who also been running games, although I can't verify who they are, nor what PC OS they are running

I have Windows 10 x64-Bit Home Version and I have tried hundreds of times using all of the tricks to get Star Trek Armada I to actually work on Windows 10 and have discovered that all of the tricks don't actually work on all computers. The game has crashed on launching without even leaving the Splash Screen.

Due to this I have an idea to bring Armada I into Armada II by replacing certain Armada II files and this is just experimentation first but I'm actually confident that it will work for you need the Armada I Disc to play the game yet I have gotten the game to play without the Armada Disc being used but the Armada II Disc. Also when you look closely at both games they really don't have that many differences. This idea also comes from a few minor mods that have transferred Armada I Missions into Armada II. The only difference is no Officer Upgrades, needed colonization and needed metal mining.

Then it also fixes the number 1 flaw of Armada I that made many people hate it, the graphics are pretty much 100% terrible in the original Armada but far better in Armada II.

More on this idea and project will eventually be on my modding website if certain editing works in replacing the Armada II Missions with the Armada I Missions.

You could try lowering the in-game resolution, it works on my end. I used to run the game on 1920x1080 resolution, but it was having the problems you mentioned, so I switched to a lower resolution of 1280x1024. And guess what? It went a lot smoother!
