What are some of your favorite ships that only exists in soft- or non-canon sources like video games, comics, or books?

Personally, all three of mine come from Armada. Armada was my first exposure to Star Trek video games, and I thought the designs of some of the ships were refreshing takes on each faction's styles. The Fek'Ihr-class, Shrike-class, and the USS Premonition have to be some of my all-time favorite Star Trek ship designs.

I wish Eaglemoss or someone would dip into non-canon stuff (aside from the time they made the NX-refit). If they were to make a desk model of the Premonition, I'd buy it in a second.

I'll always love the Odyssey. It's like a Sovereign merged with an Intrepid into a new, more perfect form.

And then there's the good old Tactical Fusion Cube from Star Trek Armada II. Mostly I like it due to fond memories of unleashing it upon my enemies, but that still counts right?

I have to agree that the Odyssey is a beautiful ship. That would be my first choice, but the Titan (Luna Class) is pretty kewl!

The Luna class is definitely a nice looking ship and as a very advanced exploration vessel you're going to get to go on all the long term deep space exploration missions.

I think it's referred to as a Typhon Class, I believe the Valkyrie Class was the name of the fighters that they carried. Either way it's definitely a cool ship, it's basically a mobile outpost which must make it pretty versatile especially when it comes to command and support roles. I was never a fan of the nacelles though, they've gone a little more in the direction of Andorian warp propulsion with the nacelle configuration which I think suits a ship of this size but it's just a shame they went with the Galaxy class style nacelles rather than something closer to those of the Defiant.

For me I think I prefer the Vesta class and the Merian class.

VESTA CLASS



Firstly at the current time of the Star Trek novels it's the most advanced ship in the fleet (and probably the Alpha quadrant). Secondly I'm a big fan of the actual design, Mark Rademaker does very good work. The fusing of the primary and secondary hulls make it look very aerodynamic, it's distinctly Starfleet with enough traditional design cues but also looks futuristic as it should being a test-bed for advanced technology including slipstream drive. It's got the physical presence of an exploration cruiser and the brains of a science vessel, what a ship to take exploring!

MERIAN CLASS



I'm pretty fond of the Merian Class and had one in my signature image for quite some time. It's not the biggest most impressive of ships to look at but to me it just comes across as being a functional workhorse. It's a modern design both in the sense of how it looks and it's technology so whilst it might not be big it's going to be well equipped and it of course includes a slipstream drive. To me it looks like a nice nod to the Miranda Class which I was always a fan of, a good hard working ship that despite it's size can take on a variety of mission profiles.

For me it's the Luna Class.

I'm with Bridger on this.

The Luna Class has come to be one of my top three favorites. Preceded by the Galaxy and Sovereign Classes.

This ship should've been on TV and I had hoped that CBS would eventually let us have a Star Trek: Titan series. Alas I'll just have to stick with the books which I have just started to read.
