While I could have taken this matter directly to FEO, I decided the best option was to use the forums in an attempt to find out if others agree with me and see how much support this request garners. I am in no way attempting to sidestep the system or bypass normal procedure. I truly want to know if there is public support for this issue. Who knows. Maybe I'm the only one who cares. We will only know by using the forums rather than a direct message to FEO, so here it goes.

Not exactly sure who made the decision not to open up projects for 3rd Fleet K-13 but it is extremely shortsighted and wrong. I imagine whoever is responsible has no characters in 3rd Fleet or never uses those characters. If they did more thought would have went into this decision than it obviously did.

Were this content not AoY specific AND UFP had not forced all of the AoY characters into 3rd Fleet, I would most likely feel very differently. That is simply not the case. Artifacts IS AoY specific AND AoY characters WERE required to join 3rd Fleet.

The fact is UFP forced all Ages of Yesterday characters into this fleet and there are those who are now playing those characters as their primary. I am one of those. My only 23c Connie is parked there as well. I have also been attempting to stockpile some dilithium and fleet credits with my AoY character in anticipaton of this release. From what I have seen on the forums and heard in chat, I am one of the few people who are actually excited about it. Yet another reason to release the projects on 3rd Fleet.

Since this expansion is part of the Ages of Yesterday arc, it is absolutely essential those in the decision-making positions realize this fleet should have been provisioned first for this particular expansion or at least at launch. Instead, I have been told 3rd Fleet will not be opened up until 1st and 2nd Fleet have been completed.

Really? A fleet full of AoY characters cannot even play the content they were created for because this fleet has a "3" rather than a "1" or "2"? That really makes sense to someone? As Spock would say..... "Highly Illogical." If only two fleets were to be opened to the new content, the right choice would have been to open 1st and 3rd.

I ask those who are responsible for this erroneous decision to rethink their reasons and to do the right thing. Open up projects in 3rd Fleet now so that AoY characters have an equal opportunity to play the content that was created for them.

I decided not to slot projects for K-13 on 3rd and 4th fleet because I want to focus available resources on the main and 2nd fleet so the development, and eventually provisioning, doesn't lag behind. I've also made the choice to get Xenotechology on main and Engineering on 2nd to please everyone.

Once the holdings are sufficiently developed 3rd fleet characters can ask for a (temporary) transfer to the main or 2nd to get their things.
As for Agent of Yesterday characters and relation to 3rd fleet is because 3rd fleet has the capacity to hold so many characters and because at the time its holdings were very much under development. AoY are not forced into 3rd fleet.

However I am willing to work towards a solution if people can help me out if these two conditions are met:
1. If there are enough people interested K-13 projects can be slotted on 3rd
2. The same group of people will have to actively donate to these projects to get them going on a daily basis until the K-13 holding is fully developed.

Failure to meet these conditions and I'll stop slotting them.

I appreciate the responses to this issue. As you know, while I freely offer my opinion on issues, I rarely take a stand against decisions made by our leadership. I do appreciate their efforts and time and for the most part believe their decisions are probably best for the fleet, even if I do not personally agree with them. Obviously this was something I saw as very important to those of us playing AoY characters and felt their needs had been overlooked.

One of the MAIN reasons I placed the post in a public area was to guage public interest. I truly want to know if others agreed or not. If there isn't sufficient interest with 3rd Fleet members then the logical thing would be to open the other two fleets up to AoY characters.

If the latter option is taken, I would like to see the same push by Starfleet Operations to all members to help level up the 3rd Fleet holding since I will be expected to expend the resources I have been saving for 3rd Fleet's K-13 Station on Fleets other than the one my character will be expected to return to. Of course, if there is no requirement to return to 3rd Fleet after the holding is completed then I guess it's not as important to push people to level that one.

I am more than willing to wait a couple of days for people to weigh in and then a decision which best fits those responses can be made.

Again, I truly appreciate your time, responses and attention to this issue.

If (as per normal) we can always just get an invite to the main fleets to buy everything aside from ships, I don't really see the point in spreading our resources.

Addendum: Remember that anything aside from ships don't require actually being in the Fleet, an invite onto the relevant holding by any member is sufficient.

It's not about just buying things. That's easy enough to do. I want my AoY character to have access to a fully functional K-13 for obvious reasons. It's HIS era! It's his station! IF the fleet fully equips 1st and 2nd Fleet's holding and then lags on 3rd and 4th Fleet like they have for most other holdings in those fleets, that will never happen. On top of that, UFP has mandated my AoY character be in 3rd Fleet (and it absolutely does not matter why- it's a mandate so he is stuck there). There are really only two options that are fair to those playing AoY characters. Either SFO guarantees 3rd Fleet's K-13 WILL be completed (and no other fleet projects will be opened until it occurs) or lift the mandate on where AoY characters are allowed.

AoY characters are allowed in any fleet, if you want your AoY character in main fleet, then transfer characters. As stated by Begotten, quote below.

Just to echo this, the rule states you can only have one character in UFP main fleet. Which character you want there, is entirely your choice.

The ruling regarding AoY characters was a similar decision to when we had Delta Recruits. Since for a majority of people, they use the alternate character for the event, and then will put it away and hardly use it - it makes sense to put it in 3rd Fleet. Those who wished to carry on using those characters, swapped them into UFP 1st or 2nd.

I shall not speak for Begotten, because he runs SFO and I don't, but it has always been SFO's policy to develop Main's holdings first, then 2nd, then 3rd. Also bear in mind that we have the Armada system that allows you to donate to multiple fleets.

In either case, I would suggest you move your AoY toon to UFP Main to take full advantage of the new holding, and move your other toon to 2nd or 3rd. Just let SFO know what you'd like to do.

Thanks. This is NOT the impression I got when I created my AoY character. I was asked in-game by SFO members on at least four occasions which fleet I had put my AoY character in. Of course, we had been told to put them in 3rd fleet from the beginning and that's where it was. I doubt I was the only one who was asked what fleet my AoY character was in (I definitely did not think I was being singled out or picked on at that time and still do not) so there may be others with the same misconception.

Since the issue of where AoY characters are allowed has been cleared up (Sorry I didn't see that the first time, Trey! Completely my fault!) I see no reason to continue the discussion. If the forum-keepers wish, this thread can be closed and the matter can be considered resolved. Once again, proof that our leadership DOES listen and DOES make efforts to accomodate the membership.I thank you.
