    Just thought i'd bring attention to this here as just saw it on the forums an I know not everyone goes there for their game news.

    STO's requirements are changing next year to allow better performance and lighting etc. This will make some systems and tech obsolete. See the thread below:

    This will probably affect some fleet members on older systems, hopefully not too many though.

    Problem is, DirectX 9 is often used for performance reasons because STO isn't well optimised for 10 or higher with older systems, even on cards they say would be fine. I can understand the reason for phasing out the support, hopefully it is met with making the game work better with DirectX 10 and higher.

    I think they can't or don't want to fix the 9 support so screw it we will work on 10 working well with the code.

    I hope they work on making better as you say Three, DX11 is still not stable enough for STO to function as everyone wants it to, however I think it will be big ask for them to make improve the game and make it work properly!

    Personally my graphics card works fine, even though at the character selection screen it says I am using out of date drivers (which I am not!). Only issue I have is on some of the Delta Quad maps so I have to lower the resolution whilst on them (stupid Ocampian freighters!).
