    WOW! thats great news! As the reddit post states there are alot of TOS references in the sector names, hope this means more TOS content or themed episodes.

    And a Unique planet model for Ferasa, interesting, possibly new content with our feline friends Klingon Grin

    Some things I notice, though many of them are probably just little fanservice winks:

    Berengarius was the site of a starbase mentioned in DS9, and was scouted by Archer as a potential site for a starbase.
    Izar is where the crazy ex-Starfleet captain Garth from TOS came from, and Antos is where he set himself up as God over a pre-warp civilization
    The Arbazan were a Federation member seen in DS9
    Balancar is associated with the Ferengi somehow, in Magnificent Ferengi they talk about squill syrup coming from there.
    Argus is (I think) where the Argus array is - TNG mentions the array and the sector, but never at the same time, so it's ambiguous

    The two that interest me the most (along with Ferasa, because of the new texture) are Fesarius, presumably where the First Federation is, and Gon'cra, because I can't find that name anywhere on memory alpha or beta. These are the three I think they're actually going to do something with.

    It seems strange that Izar, which must have been known to the Federation in TOS, is beyond Fesarius, which is discovered in TOS, and both are beyond Ferenginar. The Ferengi were unknown to the Federation until TNG.

    I am happy to see new TOS material.

    I read a developer respond to this STO thread discussion (but didn't confirm or deny if the rumor was true) just stated that the current system allowed for no more than a Quadrant map to be no larger than 8x8. In the STO forum I can't remember if the thread suggested a larger than 8 sector map although it may have been similar to what you saw.

    The current Beta Quadrant was 7x6 and Alpha is currently 4x5, but developer made no mention to confirm or Deny the rumor(s). The map above however seems to suggest 7x5... Redface

    Good point. Id also like to see the game focusing way more on exploring and bigger and "deeper" ground maps.
