IRW Cumaen, Commanding Officer erei'Riov S'Havraha (Caymen)
BEGIN LOG
The Cumaen. Not my first choice for a commander's spot, especially after serving on the Norexan class Kholhr. Nonetheless, she is a fine warbird. They call her a light warbird or a swift warbird - she is quite fast and nimble, and her cloaking device is top notch. She will be a fine escort vessel and she'll be fairly good at infiltration missions as well.
Of course going back to my roots, one of our main goals is to serve on the Neutral Zone border, working with the Federation and guarding against the Klivam [Klingons]. I'm guessing my good relationship with the Federation Ambassador Caymen Greener is what helps with my posting here, but I don't know that I have the exacting fervor to annihilate Klingons in our path. I will kill, but not as quickly as some of my comrades.
I have some fine officers coming on board as we speak. At the Galae Star Command base we are supplying this new swift warbird and getting her ready for her shakedown. They've done all the field testing, but now it's time for me to get my hands on her and put my crew to work. Our first mission will be a simple patrol of the neutral zone, with backups nearby in case a threat occurs. I have a feeling we will soon be meeting the Federation for further talks. After Hobus, so much is in the air, and our new Praetor and Senate are envisioning quite a lot in the way of imperial growth. Their energy is refreshing for sure.
erei'Riov S'Havraha, signing off...

BEGIN LOG
We have just finished our first patrol of the Neutral Zone. While we have friendlies in Starfleet on the other side, we are not so fortunate to have a completely balanced and recognized border. The Klingons were up to something sneaking around the Neutral Zone, possibly piercing Romulan space as well. Regardless, we encountered them and took care of business. While we did leave one ship standing, cloaked and undetectable, we are fairly sure their commander, Captain Gurn, has expired. We will definitely do followup to verify, as Gurn is devilish enough of a Klivam to have escaped.
The crew did well - I have full faith in my subcommander, flight control, warfare control, and others. They outperformed my wildest hopes and I could not be more pleased.
After some minor repairs on our own, we will head to the Neutral Zone again not terribly far from Rator, in the Nelvana Sector. We are to meet two Starfleet vessels and accompany them down the Neutral Zone on several supply drops, as per our current standing orders after the Hobus incident. I am not afraid to work with the Federation and I embrace it. I just hope the feeling is reciprocated. We will go in fully cloaked and silent, especially in light of our run in with the Klingons.
erei'Riov S'Havraha, Eliu [complete].

IRW Cumaen, SubCommander EnArrain Farrol (Caymen NPC)
BEGIN SUBCOMMANDERS LOG
This is my first log entry, as the Galae typically do not care to hear from subcommanders in official logs. However, the erei'Riov has encouraged it and I thought I should give my perspective on our current mission and status.
I am all in favor of help from the Federation, as some of our colonies and other areas need assistance we do not have the capacity to provide. In due time we will, but for now their help is a good thing. The strides made by Riov Donatra and Starfleet's Enterprise and Titan cruisers have made things far less sour. D'era is important, but we can make friends to preserve that way.
Now the Klivam... many want us to forge relationships there, and even hard treaties with the Federation. Hnaev! [s***] We have come too far, even since Hobus, and I will not stand by while we let those filthy warmongers ruin our empire. I will not let the bureaucracies of the Federation slow down our regrowth. We have our own problems, but we can solve most of them, especially given some time. The Tal'Shiar, the Klivam, the Ferengi... they will not stop us, no matter how hard they try.
My concern is that the riov might get caught up in the politics. He was an ambassador, he is friends with many in the Federation and Starfleet. I know he does not like the Klingons, but he will take advice from the Humans. And I fear he will listen to them more than us, or the Galae. The Galae, at least the ones I trust and S'Havraha trusts, are apolitical. They have one agenda and one only - to serve the praetor and the empire and D'era, through military might and peace.
As we wait for our Starfleet counterparts to show up, and take this little sideshow along the Zone, holding hands like small children to show our love, I will be watching, and I will be a constant voice in S'Havraha's ear. For he needs to remember his roots and the truths of our people. He needs to serve us over others, for that is a cornerstone of D'era.
*** pause ***
I am due to return to my post. My guess is we will be moving closer soon, as we cannot wait around here forever. I just hope this is all worth it in the end...
