Ares Mission Pack #001

Ares Members, you are hereby requested by your respective commands for one of the following missions. Please reply to this thread and claim the mission in which you wish to partake (first come first serve). Once signs are complete for a mission, the vessels involved will be immediately dispatched with the orders herein.

Good luck!

A couple of notes:

One mission per player (those of you with two ships, please wait for everyone to have a chance before adding your second ship)
If you need an NPC bad guy, ask me or anyone else to help out!
Don't forget to use the standard mission template in this forum.
You get to pick your own imagery, so decide as a group (or again, first come first serve) and have some fun with it!
Feel free to list a backup mission if you're not sure you'll get your first pick.

I will update this thread as folks request missions.

Mission: The Cloak That Shouldn't Be

Mission Summary

Traces of cloaking technology within Federation space have been found by long-range scanners and confirmed by nearby outposts. Starfleet Intelligence is fairly confident these are not Klingon or Romulan and that this may be a Starfleet vessel. Investigate the traces and only engage if threatened. The last known traces were found near the Vega system.

Mission Summary

After the Hobus incident mere months ago, the Klingons have been flexing their military muscles quite a bit. Starfleet Command has reported that at least one large Klingon warbird has attacked a small Romulan outpost near Federation space. Investigate, and be willing to engage the Klingons as necessary.

Mission Summary

After several months of diplomatic talks and negotiations, the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire have agreed to let Starfleet intervene in humanitarian aid on some of the border systems as well as help defend against unnecessary or overloaded Klingon attacks. This is a classified as a non-aggressive, defensive peace accord and is not considered any kind of treaty or alliance. Starfleet Command and the Romulan Galae now wish for a few starships to meet in the neutral zone for a sharing of tactical data needed to uphold the accord.

Mission: Cardassian Border Skirmish

Mission Summary

The Cardassians have been quiet as of late, but now reports are coming in of unwarranted blockades on several peaceful planets near Cardassian Union space. Starfleet Intelligence does not have information on whether this is the Cardassians or not for sure, but investigation is required.

Mission: Resistance Has Been Silent Lately

Mission Summary

After silence from the Borg for many years, signals of Borg nature have been picked up in the Galactic South areas of Federation Space and some of the outlying regions nearby. One of the systems that successfully captured a recording has now gone radio silent. Starfleet Command is sending three vessels to investigate and, if needed, perform search and rescue. Any massive Borg presence should be reported immediately and evacuation of the area implemented.

Since I'm at Starbase 310 I'd like Cardassian Skirmish as well if two Sovereigns are not too much ^^

Ditto for me as well... Hopefully over the next few day's / week we'll push the timeline showing a few mission logs over several weeks to get us into mid/late Dec 2387. That should then see the Beleren & Yorkshire ready for the challenges ahead.

Ok, I updated the mission listing above. Adster and Eagle, you two are free to start the Cardassian mission!

Just FYI, you can run two missions at once, just post/pre date one of them. You don't have to, and I know some of you like to keep things more linear, so that's fine. Just putting the word out there. But I am running my Cumaen patrol right now (individually) and will run the Romulan one herein once we get a third. The patrol will just happen before the mission pack one.

Also, all of these missions would happen in early 2388. Again, you don't have to be so strict about the timeline, but Hobus is maybe 6-8 months gone by, so things have settled as far as RAGE-CRY. But yeah, just keep that in mind as well.

Also, in the future, the mission packs will meld together a bit and bring a story-arch along to Ares. This first pack is just a "go out and do stuff" pack, but later packs will have a theme. We can kind of tell a galactic story together, if that makes sense.

Perhap's I'll drop off the remaining Deuterium at Utopia Planitia to get back a little closer to our home starbase... and in the process join Commander Byrne to investigate things closer to the Romulan border. Sounds like it could be fun... Seems like you guys have been waiting for a 3rd person to join before really getting started. I'd love to join Mission: Secondary Romulan Negotiations.

Folks, the missions listed below will be cleared out and signups will cease. This will occur next Friday, the 24th. If you wish to participate, please reply herein before that date.

That said, I will release a new mission pack in March that is not so disjunct, meaning the missions will intertwine in some fashion. Be on the lookout for that!
